I'll suggest , instead  of  rememebering the formulas directly, u derive it first n then memorise it...... it will help, or give a problem here, n i'll show u how to solve it!

I think the above is right....
most of the inequalities are solved using AM > GM >HM concept.

manini, the answer shud be 2qe/K if the above mentioned concept is not applied and if it is applied it will be 4qe/k. Lets wait for the answer frm the experts...

experts, i hav a doubt, the extension in case of sudden loading is always twice of the extension in case of normal/gradual loading. shudnt  that concept be applied here???

cant say exactly , it may be it may be not.... m in a doubt for that, cuz the intercept form of line is
                  x/a + y/b =1,
where a and b are the intercepts on x-axis and y-axis respectively, but x=y cant be expressed in this form!!!
lets wait for any response frm the experts........

well, i hav also seen the BMAT papers, they are very easy.... dnt take it otherwise but they r really quite easy, infact one of my frnds, score 170 and so marx in those tests...  and jee is defintely going to be atleast higher than BMAT level....

how to find the resistance of a 6X6 square wire mesh , across the diagonally opposite points, if its given that the resistance of each side of small square is R.

PS: i want the shortest approach

the answer given was x=y.... while solving x+y=4 shud be the only answer
wat i meant to ask here is that are "zero intercepts justified".... i hav asked it frm experts also... see the following post

Is zero intercept for a line defined????
suppose its given that a line passing thru a given point (a,a) and having equal intercepts on the axis, we hav to find its equation, then the answer is x+y=a. but wat i want to ask is, x=y also passes thru the point and its intercepts , which are zero are equal. is this justified??? i hav searched Loney also for this, thr also the concept of zero concept is given..... but dnt knw, if it can be used also or not!

4COS
+3SIN=3

its of the form  a sin x + b cos x =c
dividing both sides by sqr root (a2 + b2)  , we hav it in the form of
                       sin (y +x) = c/( sqr root (a2 + b2))
where sin y=b/( sqr root (a2 + b2)) and cos y=a/( sqr root (a2 + b2))

here y= 57 degree and it will be sin (57 + x) =3/5,
hence x can be solved

nothing can be said now.... most probably, it will be individual subject's cut-oof (paper1+2), n then cut-offs for paper1, paper2 and combined 1+ 2 .
