Its an easy question but requires good concept. Its a previous year JEE problem.

Q.1- The molar volume of liquid benzene(density=0.877g/ml) increases by a factor of 2750 as it vaporises at 20⁰C and that of liquid toluene(density=0.867g/ml) increases by a factor of 7720 at 20⁰C. A solution of benzene and toluene at 20⁰C has a vapor pressure of 46 torr. Find the mole fraction of benzene in the vapour above the solution.

Ans = 0.73

Q.2- Let z₁,z₂ be roots of the equation z² + pz +q=0, where the coefficients p and q may be complex numbers. Let A and B represent z₁and z₂ in the argand plane. If AOB = @ ( @ not equal to 0) and OA=OB, where O is the origin, prove that p² = 4q cos²@/2.

main jo apna idea yahan rakhne jaa raha hoon woh kuch logon ko to bewakoofi kag sakti hai, kuch ko time waste aur kuch ko pata nahi kya but one thing I can assure, that it will be very fruitfull for goiitians.

There are just 115 days left for JEE. In these days, it is said to practice as much good questions as one can. So my idea is that why don't we start posting some of the good,tough,hardcore questions here for practice? We can create 3 individual posts in phy,chem,maths forums and everyday anyone can add some good quality questions to that forum with the answer of that question. If someone wants a solution, the author can send it to his/her nudgebook but should not post the solution at the forum's post.

Isse kuch time waste nahi hoga, waise bhi jo log 2-3 hours goiit pe aate hain, woh ya aur bhi koi agar 4 lines likh dega to kaunsa time waste ho jaayega? Isse goiitians ka bhala hi hoga.

In one of his previous articles, himanshu said that this year 50% of iitians must be from goiit. So why don't try this idea? We can make goiit's own question bank.

But remember, question tough to chahe kitna bhi do but us question mai jo method lag raha hai woh IIT syllabus mai hona chaiye.

It should be only (ii) becoz isme hi even no of carbon atoms hain bas.
(iv) nahi hona chahiye becoz usme the no of carbons is 7 and from wurtz reaction, we can prepare only those alkanes which have even no of carbon atoms.

Yaar iska bada hi simple and straightforward reason hai-
When the body is at rest, there is bond formation between the molecules of the 2 bodies in contact.
When the bodies are in relative motion, the bonds can not be formed and hence the bonds are broken.
Now the static friction is more becoz, you need to apply more force to break bonds while in kinetic friction, the bonds are only broken and you need to apply only that much force which is required to overcome friction between their rough surfaces.

Hence kinetic friction is less than static.
