as far as i knw, its for R and S configurations and is as follows... Cahn-Ingold-Prelog R/S Notation The Cahn-Ingold-Prelog R/S rules are used for naming enantiomers and diastreomers - Identify the chiral centers (most commonly an sp3 C with 4 different groups attached)
- Assign the priority to each group (high = 1, low = 4) based on atomic number of the atom attached to the chiral center (remember the first point of difference rule)
- Position the lowest priority group away from you as if you were looking along the C-(4) s bond. For the other 3 groups, determine the direction of high to low priority (1 to 3)
- If this is clockwise, then the center is R (Latin: rectus = right)
- If this is counter clockwise, then it is S (Latin: sinister = left)
Hopefully ur query would hav been solved...

Two charged particles and of equal and opposite charge of magnitude 2C and mass 2kg are attached to a spring of force constant 4 N/m in the natural length of the spring. The system is placed in an uniform electric field of field strength 5 N/C suddenly in the direction of electric field such that the -ve charge is towards the origin of electric field. assuming the natural length of the spring to be large, find the maximum compression and elongation in the spring length.

here is one solution, The force on the charge = qE which will be accelerating the particle while going to B, n deaccelerating it while returning to a, after collision with B. thrfore the acceleration a = qE/m = 10 m/s2 applying the equation s= (at ) 2 / 2 we can calculate the time taken to reach to B frm A, Here t=sqr root (2/5) and velocity of the particle wen it'll reach to B = at now wen getting back to A, as the collision is elastic its velocity will be same, but the electric force now will be deaccelerating,....a = -10 again applying s= ut + a(t)2 /2 =>t =sqr root(2/5) thr fore the total time = 2* sqr root(2/5) i think this will be the answer...do tell me if m wrong newhere....

Four identical charge particles of charge -1 C and mass 100g each are attached to four insulated identical and ideal strings whose other ends are attached to a single point with a ceiling. In equilibrium condition under graviyt what will be the tension in each string and also find the minimum and the maximum distance between any two charge particles in the given arrangement.... PS: I want the full solution, and the answer too....

This is exactly my condition now, really how hav u managed all this???? tell me also, i havnt done even half of this!!!

I also support the above!!!

How to prepare, for BITSAT,as its different frm JEE??? If anyone have links for any bitsat practice test , pls post here....I'll be gr8ful!!

I think the function is non-integrable... cant say with 100% confidence but i think so!!

its pretty easy.... let y=tan-1x => x=tan y differentiating both sides wrt y we have, dx/dy = sec2y = root of [ 1+ tan2y] = root of [1+x2] => dy/dx = 1/ [1+x2] in this way the rest can also be calculated. if u hav any problem regarding this do ask again....

Hi ruhi, happy bday dear, here's sth for u, hopefully u'll like it PS: m posting here this mssg, as thr's no option of attaching files in 'Lounge'

A Large spherical shell(radius r, charge q) rotating with angular velocity is placed in gravity-free space, having uniform magnetic field, suc that its direction is perpendicular to the axis of rotation. If the mass of shell is "m", find the maximum kinetic enrgy of the shell.

@ "azad_2007"................ Well Let Us get thru IIT once and then u'll get to knw on ur own the answer of this very particular question..... as far as helping the country to progress and evry that thing.... guys ...gimme a break,... no one will even think of it once u'll get thru, all u'll be thinking of urself, so no use of discussing all these here... rather study....

I knw its too difficult to manage all the things....cant say much about the rest things... but yes dnt give a thought to fiitjee testpapers.... jst use them to check ur speed+accuracy to solve questions n not as a level of preparation for jee.... as they r far far above frm jee level..... n many things in it are such, which are not even in syllabus ...i myself is also giving them.... n i knw hows the papers are.... nothing to worry prakhar... evrything will be alright.... jst chill and keep studying and as far as concerning about board exams are thr.... do give ur best to it..... but not at the cost of jee.... atleast i'll advice u so, cuz in the future no one will be asking u about ur boards marx..... and dnt panic that boards are ending on 4th and jee is on 8th.... i think u hav got enuf days gap for them naa.... and as far as i can guess, boards' maths would be very simple for u since u are preparing for jee.... u can revise in that gap also... n give the last 2 complete days for maths, that will be more than enuf....... Hopefully u'll feel bit relaxed, n jst rem'ber boards are a cakewalk.... jst teachers at school term them as diffciult, they really r too easy , hardly matter anywhere in the future.... Always rem'ber "Tuff tyms never last, tuff ppl do"....... so be tuffer n be cool...... Wish u Luck.....

the charge on the outer surface will be +4 on the outer side and -4 on its inner surface.... and the electric field will be 4K / 9

thanx.... i think i was mistaking for the concept..... nd yes....my name is "manasi"....waise, its thr in the signature.... u wont hav noticed!!! thanx once again!!
