Botany covers a wide range of scientific disciplines including structure, growth, reproduction, metabolism, development, diseases, chemical properties, and evolutionary relationships among taxonomic groups. Botany began with early human efforts to identify edible, medicinal and poisonous plants, making it one of the oldest branches of science. Nowadays, botanists study about 400,000 species of living organisms. The beginnings of modern-style classification systems can be traced to the 1500s-1600s when several attempts were made to scientifically classify plants. In the 19th and 20th centuries, major new techniques were developed for studying plants, including microscopy, chromosome counting, and analysis of plant chemistry. In the last two decades of the 20th century, DNA was used to more accurately classify plants.Botanical research focuses on plant population groups, evolution, physiology, structure, and systematics. Subdisciplines of botany include agronomy, forestry, horticulture, and paleobotany. Key scientists in the history of botany include Theophrastus, Ibn al-Baitar, Carl Linnaeus, Gregor Johann Mendel, and Norman Borlaug.

environmental is also a growing branch .. but if u have preferences of particular branches go with them , if you want to persue mba after graduation go for the college ... if no plans as such go for IT if these are the only two options u are thinking of .
it depends on the incination of urs towards a subject , if at all there is towards a particular one ... if u don't have any interest , you can choose on ur personal parameters ... like proximity , college preferences and post graduation plans ( if any ) and so on .. had i been on ur place , would have gone for nit
u should go to ccb website to check the colleges and courses available at your aieee rank and then choose amongst the options

well , the best way to revise is to make notes while studying for the first time and going through again and again ... the addition u can do in this thing is , the things u understood can be briefly described in ur notes and the things u didn't understand properly must be detailed... as u go through it again and u start getting the concepts u didn't grasped last time , u just make that also brief and this just get ur notes briefer and u'll have an idea about ur position for the topic .
that depends on the branch you prefer
yes it has a wide range of books published for chemistry , as stated above
