Three concentric metallic shells A,B,C given with radius R, 2R,3R respectively. Shell B is earthed and shell A and shell C are connected by a wire. Charge q is given to the shell A and 2q is given to shell C. Find the charge distribution on all the surfaces of the shell.

refer to halliday resnick krane or university physics young and freedman for concepts. hcv is also good for questions on capacitance.

Example 17 question 35 Prove that the equation to the circle of which the points (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) are the ends of a chord of a segment containing an angle theta is (x-x1)(x-x1) + (y-y1)(y-y2) +/- cot(theta) [ (x-x1)(y-y2) - (x-x2)(y-y1) ]

1. Average velocity of a particle is zero in a time interval. Is it possible that the instantaneous velocity is never zero in the time interval? 2. Average velocity of a particle moving on the straight line is zero in a time interval. Is it possible that the instantaneous velocity is never zero in the time interval?

mg/2. assuming the angle between the two halves of the rope as 2theta. noew one half makes an angle of theta with the vertical. so making the free body diagram of mg, u get equation 2Tcostheta=mg T=mg/2costheta now minimum value of this expression is only when denominato is max. den is max when costheta = 1. so T=mg/2

When a train starts, the head of a standing passenger seeems to be pushed backward. Analyse the situation from the ground frame. Does it really go backward? Coming backnto the train frame how do you explain the backward movement of the head on the basis of Newtons laws? Ok i got that in the train frame we take the pseudo force into account so the head falls back. But how do you explain the head falling back from the ground frame?

hi pooja!! You should go according to your interest. Actually Finance ppl in pilani face competition from the mba ppl in the same camppus for placements. So the placement is not that much dream like as expected. Companies prefer mba ppl. Only if you do mba after this in finance you should take this. Upgradation is difficult this year as not any ppl are leaving bits. NIT IT is not at all bad. The stats that are shown in one of the posts are of 2010. Now the scenario is different. And also take finance only if u r interested in the numbercrunching finance field because shifting from IT to other fields is very easy but shifting from finance to IT is almost impossible.
