The amount of heat absorbed or evolved during the formation of 1 mole of a substance is called heat of formation.
For example-:

C + O2  CO2  + Heat

In this reaction, heat will be evolved. Hence, heat of formation of CO2 is -393.5, further as the heat is evolved the sign is negative.

Friends,
If a certain mass of fuel can propell a rocket in outer space then cant we use a rocket engine in order to accelarate a bicycle.
i've checked the necessay requirements and found out that I only require gasoline to propell it in forward direction. The topic wheere i am stuck is that ::

it will be done like this....

molarity = (no. of moles)/(Volume of Solution in Litrs)

0.074 = (No.of Moles)/0.5L
No. of Moles = 0.074*0.5
No. of Moles = 0.037

 (Given mass)/(Mol. Mass) = 0.037

 Given Mass = 0.037*244

 Given Mass = 9.028/2      ('coz, we want Cl- not Cl2)
Given mass = 4.514  gms
