P-dichlorobenzene is non-polar but P-dihydroxybenzene is polar. Explain.

Well TsCl converts bad leaving group into a good leaving group and LiAlH4 is a reducing agent. On using these two I think the chain should open and it should get reduced.
I think the product will be pentane.

Correct me if I am wrong, rate me if I am correct.

The effects are always given priority in the order-

Hyperconjugation > Resonance > Inductive.
phenyl's resonance is much more than its inductive. Hence it is very stable.

1- e/m value of anode rays is dependent on nature of gas taken is an experimental observation. There is no such reason as to why is it so.

2- No difference. Potential difference is called voltage in everyday language.

Rate me if you think I am correct(which I think I am).

This is the solution. I am taking g=10m/s^2.

Ei=mgh=mg5sin37=60
Ef=1/2 k x^2=k/50                                                       (x=0.2)
Change in energy=work done by external force               (which is friction here)

so, k/50 - 60 = -mu mg 5cos37
      k/50 - 60= -80 mu --------------------------------------------(1)

Now while going up-
Ei=1/2 k x^2 = k/50
Ef= mgh= mg 1 sin37 = 12

Therefore, 12 - k/50 = -mu.mg.1.cos37
               12 - k/50= - 16mu -------------------------------------(2)

On solving (1), (2), we get mu=0.5
put it in any one of the 2 equations, we get k=1000

Rate if satisfied. Nudge me if not understood.

The solution provided by priyesh is wrong. We can't apply conservation of energy in the presence of external non conservative force which is friction in this case.

Can someone explain clearly what is a bobbin? Is it a cylinder wound with thread simply or the thread is wound on it in a zigzag way?
