It means that the first string is greater than the second
i.e it lies earlier in the dictionary

Take log on both sides and differentiate
solve and use value of constants from eqn obtained by taking log

Actually nitration in benzene is not possible directly with nitric acid due to the lack of NO2+ ions in the equil soln thus we add sulphuric acid in order to produce the nitronium ions as nitric acid acts as a base for the stronger acid ,sulphuric acid. This is known as nitrating mixture.
HNO3 +H2SO4 -------> (NO2+) + H20 + SO2

This is not quite clear but as the C=0 moves in the carbon chain the number of carbons on each side changes and thus here positional isomerism may be said equivalent to metamerism
Actually if we se only the =0 group it is just positional isomerism and if we consider the carbonyl group c=0 then it seems to be metamerism

See in the other structures carbene may form in trying out resonance hence they are most unstable.Further onehaving three pi bonds in ring forces carbene formation more than the single bond ring.Hence the result................

Resolution is the process of separation of mixtures of optically active compounds i.e stereoisomers
It may be done-
physically
chromatography
using bacteria that consume one of the isomer
and a few other techniques

You can
1-Decide from the molecular structure if available
2-Only in a few cases like C2 where C=C has both pi bonds we ned to decide from the e- distribution in mol orbitals

When carbon was excited you gave it some energy --------more energy means less stable
Catalogs Discussion Forums -> Organic Chemistry -> why does delocalisation of electrons in resonance leads to stability ? -> Go to message

Electron Delocalization means that the charge is distributed over the whole molecule and we know that charge sepration causes unstability ........................

Also we must remember that charge delocalization means that charge is on one atom for some time is a misconcept.................

The correct reason is that if we think on the basis of hybridization
all bonds due to delocalization become exactly similar that is single and double both and symmetry brings stability

I think so.................

Though the question seems little strange yet one can apply the fact that more the ionic character harder the molecule
Thus
NaF>MgCl2>Al2O3>LiCl

May be this is applicable ...............................
