actually, all of u seem to be wrong.

I just found the original question paper, and the data are as follows:

mass of the ball = 10g. (This part of the question is soiled, so i am not sure if its kg or g.)
inital velocity is the same, ie 20 m/s.

options are tanQ = 0.2, 0.4, 0.8, 1.0...
I tried this sum with your approach, taking the mass to be both in gms and in kgms, but got something else as the answer.

See... Now if you have an air of around 50000, and called for central counselling, and if another person has an air of 60000, and he is called for state counselling, then the person who has 60k air shud get some seat in a nit of his state, as he has been called for state counselling. that means that the person with 50k air has much better chances as his air is also much better. and mind u, almost all the state specific students get placed in nit.
