The increase in IIT seats does not limit anyone from atleast filling the form ........almost every student this year( except Top guys in IITs) would have filled the form of AIEEE ........the main reason being it becoming online and u dont have to go to the NITs and fill the form from there...........I myself even after getting BTech ( Maths and computing ) in IIT Guwahati have filled the form of AIEEE.........The increase in seats of IIT and other factors will show effects at a later stage..........Hope for the best............

Obviously, Production in IIT is better yaar............

I have been alloted B Tech in Maths and computing at IIT Guwahati ......I would like people entering IIT G to introduce themselves .........

My AIR is 2870.............I take it anyways ........less chances tht i ll try for BITS

The moment I saw this question ...I thought I should reply this question .........I am myself a dropper .........Last year I couldnt make it into IITs and my AIEEE rank was somewhere around 9000-10000 .......So I decided to take a year off for my 2nd attempt .Believe me,it was not an easy decision....I consulted many people ....my coaching class , my teachers , friends and my parents as well .......My father wanted me to repeat because he believed tht it was not my 100% ( I too believed tht) and it was for my satisfaction that I repeated ....At the end, it was me who decided to repeat ..........I went to Kota for studies .......It was a tough decision to go to Kota as well because life is not easy for students especially of those who come from metro like Mumbai( I m frm Mumbai).....

I request those who think of repeating tht how much conviction and determination u have......r u sure tht u ll give ur 100% efforts( not even 99% ...mind it ) ........There r a lot of distraction there in Kota as well.....U ought to b focussed there..............If u r sincere and above average student , then u should love to b in Kota .........Every student in Kota aims for AIR 1 ( u can check in their rooms and u ll find it......) no matter how his /her caliber is.......there is no distraction at all for sincere ones ..........teachers there ll extract maximum out of u ( if u follow them in class....i mean tht if u r regular in doing HW and assignment ).....

At last, Life is very tough in Kota but if u r ready to sacrifice one year with full dedication ( almost 12-14 hrs of study daily) for gud days ahead then go for it..............

Take ur own decision and dont blame ur parents or friends for the consequences ...........The competition is tough and there is a bit of LUCK involved as well........

I cleared JEE this year with Rank 2870(GE) .....
