emf is the potential diff btwn the terminals of the cell when no current is drawn from it......whereas terminal potential is the potential difference btwn the terminals when current is drawn from it......terminal pot diff is always less than emf due to voltage drop because of internal resistance

well its true that IITR is a bit behind the top 5 but at the end of the day its an IIT u'll still be an IITian for life and thats huge......IIT is not just an institute its a brand but if u dont want to go to roorkee then i would suggest u to go to kanpur

a BTech degree takes 4 yrs whereas an MTech in IIT takes 5 yrs....thats the only difference i'm aware of there are a few other differences but i dont know much abt them
