@radioshak your equation is wrong in ur equation u have subtracted Va(or even if added ...it was wrong) but u shud note that Va is just a point in circuit there is now potential drop across it ....so how can u add or subtract it...........and yes if u want to move to whole loop .........then begin like this Vb + 20 - 3*3 -8 - 1*3 = Vb
and if u want to rotate whole loop starting from A ......then equation is Va - 8 - 1*3 - 3*3 + 20 = Va
THE MAIN THING TO REMEMBER IS THAT THE RISE IN POTENTIAL IS TAKEN POSITIVE AND FALL IN POTENTIAL AS NEGATIVE
yes definetly NCERT and pradeep
@radioshak see the unique thing about Kirchoff law is that u can start from any point in the circuit and end anywhere......i have started from point A and ended at point B.....just the thing to be kept in mind is that the rise in potential is positive and fall in potential is taken negative........
apply kirchoff 2nd law in loop u will get 20-8 = i*3 + i*1 i = 3A
now apply kirchoff 2nd law in open loop Vb - 3*3 +20 = Va
i think the ans is 11v........wait m writing the whole solution

hope this has solved ur problem

yes finally i have got it see, fish is at a distance of H/2 from the water-air interface. Its image is formed H / (2*n) from the water surface.(remember the formula d1/n1 = d2/n2 where all distances are mesured from interface) Then the distance of this image from the eye is H + H/(2*n) Now consider a ray traveling towards the bottom of the pot from the fish. Its image is formed at a distance of H/2 below the bottom of pot. This acts the object for the refraction of the ray at the water-air interface. Distance of this image from the water air interface is 3H/(2*n) So distance of the image of this virtual object from this interface = 3H/(2*n) So distance of the second image fromfrom the man's eyes = H + 3H/(2*n)
