A H-like atom is characterised by a transition of electron from n=100 to n level.The wavelength of light emitted is 44.9 cm. find the value of the quantum no. n.What will be the corresponding wavelength of Li2+ for the same transition.  Ans. 5.07 X 10 ^ -4 cm.

plz clear my doubts.

1.  which nature of light can explain the following phenomenons:-

a) reflection b)refraction c) diffraction d)interference e)photoelectric effect

2. in H-atom or in any atom there are how many shells e.g. K,L,M,N etc. if its infinite then why do we say dat diameter of atom is fixed??

3. why spectral lines split in the presence of electric and magnetic field?

4. why there are only 5 set of spectral lines in H-atom. why not 6th,7th or anything.e.g. if transition is from 8 to 6 then it comes under which category. and is this transition possible?
