since charge is quantised .... take the least possible charge on the charged particles ie 1.6*10^-19 c and find the result plz rate if it helped edited

find the electric field due to the 2 charges at the charge Q. you will find that the for is proportional to the distance from the 2 charges.. thus on a small displacement the particle will undergo shm ... hope u got it plz rate if it helped

in the case of conductors when an electric field is applied then there is no field in side it right what if a semiconductor is placed...... will it have potential for a long time and it will die out latr ...... or will it continue to provide current

suppose a cylindrical conductor is kept horizontally and an electric field is applied. now the positive charges will start to move in the direction of the field and the negative charges in opposite dir. and a new electric field will be generated inside. this field will appose the initial electric field ..... right... then how is current able to pass in such conductors for a very long time...i mean a conductor of this form is used to provide electricity..... then shouldn't the potential dec. with inc. in time them how is a uniform current provided.....
