u can do the SAT whenever. most ppl do it during their 11th/12th...the only criteria is that you are 14 or older.
spidey, dunno where u got that idea from, but as far as i know, your school marks do count. did i mention more than ur SATs? the reason for this is because 4 hours of a brilliant student's life does not have to reflect their true abilities.
international students, scholarships are based on ur SAT scores. if uve got above 1200 then u are eligible for scholarship at say...purdue. but u cant get the need based scholarships that depend on how much your household income is.
generally, i think getting into an american university is easier than getting into IIT. the main thing you need to focus on (i feel), is paying the tuition fees and if its really WORTH going to the states to get the same degree you could get from india.

well...im not sure about MIT exaclty but i know the average american university costs about (US) $30 000 a year. or about Rs. 1 200 000....yes your school marks matter more there than the SAT. and if u find the JEE easy (or atlease relatively easy) then the SAT would be a breeze for you.

hmm...
so this means that you/me/we have to apply to write the JEE NOW.
i know this sounds trivial, but does this form require my (students) signature?
does everyone that applies now, get accepted write the JEE?
45 days...so that means that you will only find out in the end of may if you are excepted or not?
okk.

hey
i went to this website jee.iitm.ac.in/english.htm and found out a few things (but im actually more confused now!)
okay, first of all, what is the syllabus for JEE? math, chemistry and physics.
an aptitude test, as well????
is there
only one application form to JEE
and no other for IIT?
so the way it works is that only the best are chosen to even write the JEE, then the JEE filters out those that are pretending to be smart and so only the very very best get in...hmmm...
please answer ALL my questions. thank yyyoooouuuu.

why is the coefficient of static friction larger than the coefficient of kinetic friction?
because you need more force to get an object at rest to move rather than an object thats already moving. right? but can u pls elaborate?

hmm...11 physics is pretty much the same as here...but math, we dont start calculus till 12. i still think the level is diffferent though.
for example, in g11 physics in mechanics you learnt the equations like
d= v
i
t+ (1/2)a
t
2
? 2ad= v
2
2
- v
1
2
then in magnetism you did faradays law, lenz's law, direction of current..or is all this very basic?
so, theory of relativity you dont learn in high school at all?
what did u do in 11 chem? hydrocarbons?

i'm very curious to know what you guys learn in XIth and XIIth math, physics and chemistry. specifically when do you start calculus (derivatives and so on) ...einstein's theory of relativity...hmmm what else...tell me everything and anything because i feel that what i am learning here (in north america is very mcuh backward compared to you guys.

but the ball in projectile motion seems to travel a greater distance...?
also, does acceleration have a direction and if there is how do you graph it on a acceleration time graph?
my textbook says that when something is flying AIR RESISTANCE becomes so high that there is NO more acceleration and the object is travelling at CONSTANT velocity. but...when something is falling, isnt the acceleration= 9.8m/s2???

acceleration is 9.8 m/s2
yes yes i get it now. i was confused because you cant use t= 2v(sin0) / g when the level the ball lands at is different then the original.
for hte x component, why is the only equation you can use d=vt? because v is constant?
why are the x and y components completely independent?
if a rock is dropped in projectile motion and another rock is dropped vertically, howcome they both land at the same time?
p.s. i hate physics because it seems like theres always a big cloud between me and physics concepts. any suggestions?
also, RAMYANI, i see that you are only in 11th...you have already learnt this?

am i the only one that hates physics? ok anyway.
please tell me EVERYTHING [basic] you know about projectile motion...
Specific question: rock is thrown from the top of a castle wiht initial velocity of 12 m/s [42 degrees above the horizontal.] rock lands on the other side of the river, 9.5m below the initial level. find time of flight, width of river and velocity at impact (resultant velocity)
i know its hard to picture. dont tell me the answer..just prompt me...
