as far as i know yes.... it depends only on the volume of water displaced and the density of the liquid ...since the apple is already submerged, the volume of water which is going to be displaced even if u hold it at a deeper point remains the same.

@kundan_leo P = hg is the pressure of a point in a fluid at rest .

hey i think it would be the same ......
the forces on the apple will be the wt force and the the buoyant force. the buoyant force depends only on the volume of water displaced..and the denisty of the liquid in which it is submerged
hope i'm right

yeah hard luck happens sometimes when salt is contaminated......and did u also test with agno3(coz when u say colourless odourless pbcl2 comes to my mind)

AS FAR AS I KNOW THIS WILL FOLLOW AN sn2 mechanism if the alky groups are primary....and the mechanism will shift to Sn1 if on of the alkyl groups is tertiary...
considering ur first reaction i think will get tert butyl iodide and not the alcohol.
its beacuse the in the mechanism
carbocation is stabilised by inductive effect of methyl groups. i think the mechanism is given in ncert

equation of line l in cartesian foerm
x-9/1=y-5/3=z-5/5=K
any pt on line l B(K+9,3K+5,5K+5)
consider this pt to lie on both the lines ab and l
dr's of ab(k+2,3k+6,5k+3) (x2-x1,y2-y1.z2-z1)
dr's of l(1,3,5)
the dot product of both their dr's will be 0.
so k+2 + 3(3k+6) +5(5k+3)=0;
k=-1 therfore b(8,2,0)
now u have B and A now find the image using mid-pt formula..
i think image is 9,5,-2
