@kaymant sir this was when we were talking in a non-relativistic regime now my doubt is that will the ans change when we are in a relativistic regime


I dont think the there would be any change as charge remains constant in a relativistic regime unlike mass.

but friends u all have left the 2nd part that what will happen when the charge Q tends to infinity?


I know that the drop will explode but my confusin is that can we find the no of small drops formed after the explosion


obviously we cannot conserve energy as some energy will be lost as heat,wsound etc.

usually a drop is in spherical shape due to the surface tension but if it is given a charge gradually  then what will be the effect on the shape and size of the drop ?

write it as integral of sec2x.secx


now put secx=(1+tan2x)1/2 in the above eqn


now substitute tanx =t


therefore sec2xdx=dt


integral of (1+t2)1/2dt which is in the standard form and can be easily integrated

the eqn reduces toa rather simple exp.


{(sin2x+cos2x)(sin2x-cos2x)(sin4x+cos4x)}/(1-2sin2xcos2x)


1=(sin2x+cos2x)2=sin4x+cos4x+2sin2xcos2x


=>   sin4x+cos4x=1-2sin2xcos2x


now puttin this value in the above eqn we get


integral of  -(cos2x-sin2x)dx=integral of -cos 2x


finally ans= sin2x/2

in a non-relativistic approx. the Lorentz force does not depend on the choice of the intertial reference frame


F=qE+q(v x B)    the formula is vectorially written


in the frame of the elevator the u r having some vel and the electron is also having some vel so acc to Lorentz expresiion the value of v has changed but the correcponding value of E has also changed in ur frame keeping the net force constant.


actually there is  division  of the force into electrical and magnetic comp.


so i think that there is the transformation of magnetic force into electrostatic force !!!!

the potential of the 2 plates will be different initially




 


so a current will flow from higher potential to lower until a state of eqlm is reached when no current flows through the resistor.




 


when the potential of both the plates will be same then there will be no electric field  as there is no electric field for equipotential surface.
