what u have heard is regarding DAIICT bhopal....coz state affiliated universities cannot open an other branch without prior permission from UGC.....and it has nothing to do with DAIICT gandhinagar.......as far as I know....and taking into top NITS is again a personel choice..... coz even they dont have the research/faculties etc as compared to DAIICT......only thing is they are old and have a very good brand name.....

and then u can search on this site there was an debate before to on this.....if u dont want to go thru everything...let me tell u ...both are same...one is good in one aspect while other is good in an other.......It depends which aspect u value more.....u will know about these aspects when u go thru the above links....

no comparisons buddy....IIIT are classes apart :)and ur 68 PhD's in JIIT....dude thats a wrong fact...i think u r counting no of faculties.....and not the number of PhD's teaching undergrads of IT/EC......anyways JIIT is a good insti.....u dont have to try hard to prove it.....and u can always be ahead of any IIIT guy or IIT guy if u have enough dedication and work hard for your goals..... :) .

packages arent that good now as compared to the name of the college ....but will increase as the market stabilizes.....and college grows older....

we have 3 of our seniors goin for 12 laks (off campus) even in recession....so dont worry its the knowledge that makes u better and gives u ur placement....
choose a place where u think u will gain knowledge...

and as far as thapar is concerned....people tend to place it over DAIICT coz it is old......no other reason...chk both the website of both the universities thoroughly...and u will know...

let me tell u even i and u passed 12th class.....and even we know the things that teachers teach...but we cant do as good as them coz of their expirience in their fields....

see u cant compare bits goa or other univ with DAIICT...if u wish to u can compare it with only CS/EC department of urs coz we have just 1 branch....

and its really nice to see...so many students of bits goa goin for MS in so nice universities..:)

a college is judged by its faculties...student's achivement, campus life....etc..
now firstly to Tarin Bansal..
IIIT hyderabad..is the best college at par with IIT's..

it is the knowledge that makes u better and not the degree...
this is a complete joke telling u get degree of bits pilani only... :) even though ur in goa/hyd..
how mush u learn matters and not the degree...
i would prefer a local collge where there are gr88 faculty members and not an IIT if there are no good faculties there...though i will get an IIT degree or what so ever...[though this will never ever be the case]...

Most of u would have heard or seen people from local colleges get a very good placement after they gain 2-3 yrs of expirience...that is coz of their knowledge they developed and not of any crap degree or so...
the chances of such things are higher in institues with good faculty and infrastructure...which are IIT's and some other insti that is the only reason people want these colleges.....If one can learn them without being there(which of course is very tough)...then he is at the same evel with the people already in it....

just think u own a company and are recruting employees....
you would obviously see how mush the person u r recruting knows...and not his degree...whether he is from IIT or BITS or any college.....a person with better knowledge is bound to get selected or atleast excel better than the other people after 2-3 years.....

Ok, I am from DAIICT.....many people have no idea about how these colleges are..as they are new and people find it diificult to let go the tradition that a college is better only if it is very old...
and ya just bcoz its a private university dont campare them to Amity/lovely and stuff.....they are leagues apart...

DAIICT has gr88 faculty members(already given link) ...
a unique curriculum....
students are in best universities around the world...stanford, UC berkely, etc...
many make it to IIM's every year....
they have won various national/international contests....beating colleges even world wide..
a great amount of research going on where even Btech students gets a chance to be a part of and even publish research papers.....just to compare them i am comparing them to IIT roorkee which is a very good institute indeed...

a campus with very good facilities...not to mention awesome food.. :)

well none of the above mentioned facts are exgratted even a bit....

I even feel LNMIT is similiar....though have not seen it personally..

I personally belive that these colleges have the caliber to be in top 10 even of now ....
and its not just me..

as i already have written so mush let me add in so that one can clear up sevral misconceptions...

if u r confused b/w colleges for the same branch...open the faculty staff of that department and compare them.....u will have your answer....and ya just dont go by the no of PhD's also see they are from which college ,their publicatons etc...
If they are at par...then see which one will be near to ur home and stuff...

"Colleges matter for MBA" is an exagrated fact....

see once u r in these top institutes (take it as top 30-40)...then it wont make any difference..
so there is no need of studying a branch that does not interest you just bcoz that collegs rank is 9th and the college in which ur getting a good branch has a rank of 18...take up the college of rank 18...
Even though u have decided to do MBA....pick up the 18th rank college...as you may change ur plan for MBA later...

a tough call...if u r from guj.....then stick to nirma...................if gettin same branch....

lol....so only iitians make it to IIM's right????common man....even commerce graduates....or even people from local colleges make it into IIM's....dont worry about it mush now...if u have descent rank ......then pick up the best branch...the college wont matter if its in top 50 or so....and even if it is not.....dont worry ....u still have a gr88 chance...best of luck...

only u matter... after a certain level of institue...good colleges mostly matter coz u get the environment there.....for ur development....the people their mostly see how u have developed as a personality....so stick with a good branch....if it is in a not so bad college comparatively....in case u change ur mind regarding MBA....

see my point of view is....if u get a descent college with a good branch stick to it....

that is dont go for IIT's and stuff....with a bad branch unless and untill u r 10000% sure to do a MBA.....

coz its ultimately the branch u live with all your life....

if i were u i would join...IIST...a gr88 college....as far as i know...and its ofcourse my point of view coz i love astronomy :)...

and u will get a descent rank in aieee too....

so even go for DA-IICT....with the gujarat quota there ....u will 100% get in...(assuming u r from guj)...

it has all the facilities one can ever ask for.....world class proffs.....equvilaent to IIT's...(ya...dont dout this..)...though u wont find students as sincere as in IIT's...but its up to u then...

students from here too...go to world class universities like Stanford,UC berkely,CMU...etc...where itz a dream even of an IITian to get into...

and IIM's too...this yr we had around 8 out of a batch of 240 who got into IIM's....
