I have heard it is pretty good...they get tutored by iit professors and get treated almost like iitmians..the previous year batch may spend all four years in iitm but not sure of this year batch

@venky:sorry for the later reply..i wouldn't say it would be impossible in bits...even there, there will be people preparing...it is just that the competion (as pointed out by swap) will be more in bits...moreover if you don't want chemical or so,i suggest you take a dual course like msc.eco(supports your cause if you want to do an mba) and score a descent cgpa (>7.5,8 is what i have heard)and get ee or e and i or any course of your choice...but remember you have to do real well in first year(please remember you have to prepare for jee too)...even least cgpa can get you chem or so with a msc degree (five year)...any clarifications or if didn't understand any part please let me know..dav gops..must be nerd

@venkatesh:Trust me,you get a loads of time to prepare for jee next year at nit trichy. And it doesn't matter which branch you take, the time consumed is the almost the same because the syllabus is the same in the first year.Plus, you will have more people preparing for the jeeI(i can bet many from your school may be preparing too-esp if you are dav/ps)..and about bits..it gives you loads of exposure..it is a really good college.

In nitt, there is no branch change after end of first year.Others,i am not sure

Hey as far as i know,it goes like this.Suppose you are from state A and you want ece. They first try to fit you into ece with your all india rank.If there are seats in that branch for the group you want(like ece)from all india quota, then you are allotted in all india quoat(AI quota). But if there are no seats vacant and if your home state quota has vacant seats, you are allotted in home state quota(HS quota)

as given in the aieee site the rankings(opening and closing ranks) are of "all india rank" evrn if alloted in category

honestly speaking,i wouldn't suggest to choose colleges according to the rankings...vit and psg tech>nit??

upto my knowledge sliding option after first year was taken away few years back. so now i don't think you can slide after first year

hey thats probably because more people fed in their information after first indicative seat allotement or changed their choices similar to yours...again these are just indicative..most of the poeple won't turn up for admissions...i guess you will get...all the best:D

when we say a function is continuous we mean that there are no breaks or holes.speaking mathematically consider a function f(x) say a point c is in its domain, then as the function approaches from both left and right of c it must be equal to the value at c [f(c)].here since at all vaues of x the value is a constant therefore,it is continuous.
