polarprotic = hydrogen attached to strongly electronegative atom . eg  alcohol water .


mechanism = SN1 for polar protic.


polar aprotic= converse of polar protic def..


mechanism = sn2 for polar aprotic eg DMF  DMSO ......

and one more doubt . in ccb website there is a column named under OPENING AND CLOSING RANKS OF 2007. the nits gave some rank of the students they had taken .r the ranks state or national ......? plz do reply !!!!!!!
