I think the answer provided by Vinu is wrong, it should be 2^39n + 2^93n (Here n must be an integer, otherwise there can't be any specific answer)

e.g. For n=1/3, the answer is 2^39n x w + 2^93n x w^2
   For n being an improper fraction, the answer will be even more complicated.

So, there should be proper constraints on n (not just n>0) but n being a postive integer.

The answer is short and simple and independent of r.

Lelin07, I disagree with you that all non-repeating, non-recurring decimals are irrational.

0.25 = 1/4 WHICH IS RATIONAL.
0.4 = 2/5 IS RATIONAL.

Again, repeating, recurring decimal nos can also be rational.

0.3333333.......... = 1/3
0.6666666.......... = 2/3

Rational nos can be expressed in p/q form where p & q are relatively co - prime integers whereas irrational nos can't be expressed in such form.

There are N boxes, each containing at most r balls. If the number of boxes containing, at least 1 ball is N1, at least 2 balls is N2, at least 3 balls is N3, at least 4 balls is N4, at least 5 balls is N5 .........................& at least r balls is Nr,

then find out ( if possible ) the total number of balls contained in these N boxes?

Krish, carefully observe that the 2nd term is also a recurring decimal part, but it can be reduced to the sum of infinite G.P. & hence it is rational as it can be expressed in p/q form.

Hint: Take x = acos^4(A) & y=asin^4(A) . Using these parametric equations find the equation of the tangent at a point A1. Then find out the Points of intersection of the tangent with the axes & hence the length of the intercept

My dear friend,

how did you know that the first term is irrational?

In the problem we can only sum up x like that if and only iff x belongs to the set of positive integers & not otherwise. Under this conditions, x is not a variable.

My dear friend x = 2x, we clearly see that x=0 is the only solution.

When x = 0 is a solution you cannot cancell it from both sides of the equation.

Let x = 0.101001000100001........   +   0.27272727.............

Then x is

A) IS IRRATIONAL
B) IS RATIONAL BUT x^0.5 is irrational
C) IS A ROOT OF x^2 + 0.27x + 1 = 0

3^37 =  3.(81)^9 = 3.(79+2)^9 = 3.(2^9+9C1.2^8.79+.........+79^9)
        =  3.2^9+79.(integer)
The remainder obtained when 3^37 is divided by 79 will be the same as when
3.2^9 or 1536 is divided by 79 which is 35.
