in the circuit u have va = vb = vc then why does current flow ???what is potential at o ?????

if it is lower than that at a then why shud current flow from o to b
as then b is at higher potential than o ?????????

CURRENT FLOWS FROM HIGHER POTENTIAL TO LOWER POTENTIAL THEN HOW DOES IT FLOW FROM O TO B ??

NOW  MY TEACHER TOLD ME THAT THOUGH S2 IS CLOSED UNLESS U CONNECT THE CAPACITORS C1 AND C2 AND MAKE IT A CLOSED CIRCUIT NO CHARGE REDISTRIBUTION TAKES PLACE THAT IS BOTH THE CAPACITORS REMAIN AT THE SAME POTENTIAL  30V AND 20V RESPECTIVELY .

NOW EARLIER I HAD SOLVED A PROBLEM WHERE TWO DIFFERENT SPHERICAL CONDUCTORS OF DIFFERENT CAPACITIES SAY C1 AND C2 , WERE CHARGED TO POTENTIALS V1 AND V2 RESPECTIVELY WERE CONNECTED BY A LONG WIRE AND CHARGE REDISTRIBUTION TAKES  PLACE  AND THE COMMON POTENTIAL OF THE TWO WERE CALCULATED .

HERE AS WELL U HAVE TWO CAPACITORS CONNECTED TO EACH OTHER THEN WHY DOES IT NOT COME TO A COMMON POTENTIAL ?? THAT IS I EXPECT V1'/V2' = C2/C1

PLEASE EXPLAIN THANK YOU

its okk tarin i just hoped that i wsnt making a mistake by not taking the cap. of that 3,4 thing but its okk many a times there arent clear cut answers to our qn. as my question is hypothetical in the first place i designed it such that the equation loses its meaning : ) hehehe neways havent read r-c circuits yet .

buddy i will post some circuits to u later and their explainations please help me understand the method of applying kirchoff's law in some selected problems , i got the book of network analysis 3rd semsters engineering . i was so happy . and thanks buddy

NO ITS A PLAUSIBLE EXPLAINATION WELL FRAMED ,

BUT WHY IS IT THAT ONCE U REMOVE THE BATTERY THE CHARGES STILL REMAIN STORED ?? LIKE THE PLATES WUD TRY TO COME BACK TO THEIR OWN POTENTIALS RIGHT ?? AND ON DOING SO CHARGES MUST LEAK OUT OF THE CAPACITOR .

AND WHY DO U SAY THAT U HAVE A +VE AND A NEGATIVE PLATE ?? BOTH THE PLATES HAVE SAME CHARGE DENSITY RIGHT ? SO IF U CONNECT THEM NO CHARGE FLOWS ?

YA AND I FULLY AGREE WITH U THAT PRACTICALLY THE ARRANGEMENT IS USELESS .

MERA SIR BOL RAHA THA -

CAPACITANCE IS GEOMETRIC PROPERTY SO IT IS INDEPENDENT OF CHARGE Q AND V .

SO CAPACITANCE IS NON ZERO

V=Q X C ; Q = 0 . SO HE SAYS THAT IT WILL HAVE CAPACITANCE BUT IT IS NOT INFINITY HE TOLD THE EQUATION LOSES ITS MEANING WHEN U GET C = INFINITY .

BUT HE WAS UNCLEAR ON SO AS TO WHY WE DONT TAKE 3,4 TO BE IN SERIES ??

ya i had the same doubt earlier but see

firstly , 3 degree carbocat has 9 alpha hydrogens involved in hyperconjugation so compared to allylic where there are 2 resionating structures it is more stable . so i guess first part is clear .

and about stability of singlet and triplet carbene whenever effects like resonance , backbonding ,hyp. are absent triplet is more stable , and vice versa .
svj is right in his explaination but mine can be generally applied .

LET ME BE MORE CLEAR THE TWO PLATES ARE AT SAME POTENTIAL SO CONNECTING THEM BY A WIRE DOES NOT MAKE A DIFFERENCE RIGHT . SO MY TWO PLATES AND REDUCING IT TO ONE PLATE IS NOT THE SAME , I GUESS .

I KNOW HOW TO SOLVE SUCH PROBLEMS BUT JUST WANTED TO KNOW THIS CLEARLY . THANK YOU FOR ALL UR EFFORTS

but u can allways store charges in between the two plates right ???????? see the answers given by TARINBANSAL , ASTATINE , INDRAJEET SIR . and all of u who say it acts as a capacitor for that matter ,

THE TWO PLATES ARE AT THE SAME POTENTIAL SO CONSIDERING IT AS ONE PLATE OR TWO PLATE ?????? LIKE IN THE QUESTION I ORIGINALLY ASKED THE TWO PLATES ARE AT THE SAME POTENTIAL SO I CAN DISMISS THEM AS JUST THE EFFECT DUE TO ONE PLATE RIGHT BUT THAT IS NOT SO IT IS LOWER THAN THE EFFECT OF ONE PLATE SO U CANT CONSIDER IT AS ONE PLATE AS PER OUR PREVIOUS ARGUMENTS THAT THE SYSTEM HAS LOWER CAPACITANCE THAN THAT DUE TO JUST ONE PLATE.
