se guys last year vit counslling was way before aieee and iit-jee counsllings so very few people attended it but i dont know the schedule of this years counslling . if it is before aieee and iit counslling then all my predictions will be good and if it is not then stop depending on my predictions..

my advise would be to all of you to prepare hard for aieee because vit should be kept as the last option.

89 will give you a rank of about 5000 and would fetch you some of the best branches..

nice score

rank would be arond 6000 and you will get anything above mech except cs , ece ..

but this is just my own view abt your rank dont take it to be eactly correct and dont loosen your aieee prep...

no idea about solution but my advise is that you should stop worring abt the result and start preparing for aieee...

i have already gone through it and the negative cut off which they mention is the subject wise cut off.

last year the cutt off were :-

general - 206

sc - 127

pd- 205

no i am not but have visited its campus last year during counslling and many of myfriends have joined it..

see guys a score above 90 is a good one and get easily fetch you cs .Guys getting a score above 90 get a rank under 2000 .

score between 80 to 90 will get u a rank in the rank of 3500 to 6000 and can easily fetch you ay branch except cs and ece.

score between 70 to 80 brings a rank in between 6000 to 10,000 and can get u mechanical and all streams below it..

as far as reputation of vit is considered then let me tell you that it is a private college. If you dont get seat in iit or any nit or bits then going to vit is a nice option . but being a private college its curicullum is quite demanding and you need to work hard over there . IN nit's and iit's the curicullum is not so tough as they are governed by the indian government and you can complete yur engineering very easily and without much pains..

adding my own comments if you are getting admission in vit and manipal both then go for manipal as the atmosphere of vit is not so good (everyone is so strict over there more over you will feel quite lonely and isolated ) .

I wish you could be right ankur but the fact is in iit's to fill the seats of reserved category the iit people decide a thrushhold marks which a student must clear and if the seats are left vacant in any catgory then they are automatically transfered to general category. I dont want to discriminate any one but the fact is that people belonging to pd category who truly deserve reservation and are given reservation all over the world are not getting any benefit in india.

I am a student from pd category and i am on wheelchair from the last 10 years . I applied in iit under the same category and am getting 138 marks. I havent applied to any other college because i know that none of the noniit colleges in india have lifts or ramps for guys like me. I have already wasted 1 year of mine after class 12 preparing for the same.But now a friend of mine studying in iit told me that cut off marks for pd category in jee is quite high and last year only 15 students could cross that cut off. He also told me that the cut off marks which iit people decide for pd category is only 5 to 10 marks less than the general category.So experts please advise me what to do ?????

91 seems good and i think cs is within your reach...

see you are asking me that if u can get a seat in vit at a score of 58, then let me tell you its not about getting a seat because even if you havent appered in viteee still you cann get a seat through nri quata (almost 40% of seats in vit are filled through nri quata)..

95 will generate a rank of about 2k (2000) which is too good...

68 rank - 10k (10,000) and can expect to get the last seat in mechanical after 3rd counslling.

73 :rank 9000 and branch would be mechanical or something better than it..

79 marks will easily fetch you a rank between 8k and 9 k and will get mechanical in the third counslling..

see 50 is quite low . your rank will be above 15k so start working for other exams ...

vit is not so prestigious inst. i attended previous year's vit counslling. The counslling closed at 11,000 rank and i found that most of the seats were reserved for nri quota . Last year anyone getting around 75 marks got a rank of about 9000 and got mechanoical engineering after the 3rd counslling..
