a parallel plate capacitor is charged to a certain p.d. A slab of thickness 3mm is inserted between the plates and it becomes necessary to increase the distance between the plates by 2.4mm to maintain the same p.d.The dielectric constant of the slab is

sin(x+y)=log(x+y) then sinxcosy+cosxsiny=log(x+y) then dy/dx(cosxcosy-sinxsiny)+(cosxcosy-sinxsiny)=1/x+y(1+dy/dx) ,then [cos(x+y)-1/x+y]dy/dx=1/x+y-cos(x+y) then dy/dx= -[1-cos(x+y)(x+y)/1-cos(x+y)(x+y)]  then dy/dx= -1

i think the answer has to be zero.becase if the terminal of the last vector coincides with the initial point of the first vector, then its sum will be zero.
