@regeo..............in general most of us first prepared for JEE and after giving the exam went on for AIEEE BITSAT................the thing with BITSAT is that u have done JEE preparation well then the major portion of BITSAT (as far as concepts are concerned) is done............however there are quite a few topics in BITS syllabus which involve mugging up direct facts and can be done in the 3-4 weeks after JEE.........one more extra thing that u need to practice is solving problems quickly and accurately becoz BITSAT is more abt testing ur speed (150 ques in 180minutes) .........for improving speed u can give various free online tests or buy BITSAT buks by Arihant or MTG(these come with free cd for practice tests).............these buks will also familiarise u with the type of ques asked in english n reasoning section

@radon222....to an extent I agree with u ................I mean I wud have never got into BITS if I had not studied for IIT ...............but then I never had second thoughts abt leaving IITs for BITS when I didnt get a branch of my choice, not bcoz of any disrespect for IITs but simply becoz I knew I culd never study smthing which I didnt like..............I mean I've personally known quite a few people graduating from IITs but then screwing up their careers simply bcoz they chose IIT just becoz of its name..............does any one of us want or even deserve to end up in a situation like this?

engg physics is apurely research based branch with placements in pure R&D fields.............if u r ready for a career in research well IITD is the best option for u.........else go for BITS Pilani

I believe that one should be prepared for anything........your coaching teachers are doing the right thing by asking you to be ready for subjective problems........although chances of 2 tier system are slim practicing subjective pattern will definitely help one to increse confidence in problem solving of all varieities..........and mind you subjective problems can always be asked in an "objective" paper

I m not pretty sure abt these but u wud be much better off purchasing either mtg or arihant books for BITSAT.The concepts are covered nicely and the questions are gud as well. The arihant ones also come with a CD which contains practice tests. For online practice go to www.bitsexam.com

2-(1-hydroxyethyl)-pentan-1-al assuming that -OH is attached to the second carbon from right and -CHO to third. Here the -CHO group has higher significance. Thus the parent chain is the longest chain containing -CHO group. The side chain which remains is complex and can be named within brackets using hydroxy for -OH group.

I believe that FIITJEE is the best at the moment. The coverage of the concepts is very good and the problems especially those of maths are high class. The AITS tests are also very gud for checking the limits of ur preparation(very difficult problems).

For all pulley block and analogous systems Sigma(Ti * xi)=0 Sigma(Ti * vi)=0 Sigma(Ti * ai)=0
Where Ti is the tension acting on ith block and xi, vi, ai are its displacement, velocity, acceleration resp. Here sigma refers summation across all the blocks of the system.
