:D the LPS (lipo polysaccharide layer of its cell wall) of coliforms is a very good antigen - activates immune system ---> anaphylaxis ---> septic shock (rapidly fatal) .. this happens only if it can get into blood.. other ways : it can produce toxins (entero toxigenic e-coli, enteropathogenic ecoli)... it can cause diarrhea... the same ecoli (which are commensals in intestine) are disease producing in the urinary tract... :D because the urinary epithelium is not made for resisting e.coli... same with candida... its a omnipresent fungus, a commensal, and a rapidly fatal disease producing organism in immunosuppressed individual

coronary slow flow phenomenon, as the name itself explains, is pathological decrease (blood flow reduced so much as to cause cardiac symptoms like chest pain) in the flow of blood... there is as such no highly effective treatment right now, except to treat the cause ( csfp is usually due to some other disease).... dipyridamole = platelet aggregation inhibitor may be used to some effect :D.. hope it helps :D

lactose is digested terminally (terminal digestion = digestion by enzymes at the brush border= plasma membrane bound enzymes of the luminal side of columnar epithelium of small intestine)... this disaccharidase= lactase is sometimes absent, leading to inability to split lactose into its constituent monosaccharides, leading to GI symptoms like diarrhea, vomitting, flatulence etc.. :D

no... but the cycle becomes a bit more painful with copper T, and spotting (bleeding per vagina) may occur which can be confused with early menses

there are 2 phases in a menstrual cycle - a follicular phase/ proliferative phase and a luteal phase/ secretory phase. A 3rd phase- the menstrual phase, or the phase of desquamation is sometimes put as a part of the secretory phase...

the process of secretion of bile from liver is called as choleresis. the production of bile = cholegenesis. the substance which causes secretion of bile is a cholegouge and the one that causes synthesis of bile is cholectic agent...

MEN = multiple endocrine neoplasia. there are 3 different kinds of syndromes, MEN 1, MEN 2a and MEN 2b. these are due to mutation of the gene which transribes the menin protein. It is a Tumour supressing protein.

sperm has to undergo a lot of morphological and structural changes during spermatogenesis and fertilization. while most eukaryotic cells do this by synthesising different proteins in different phases, sperm, unfortunately does not have this option. it achieves this by segregating different proteins in different compartments and then relocating them during different phases of differentiation. annulus, the diffusion barrier protein at the proximal part of mid piece is one of those proteins which helps in segregating and relocating the proteins, both cytoplasmic and membrane proteins.

no my dear.. insulin is secreted from beta cells of pancrease... though Insulin like peptides are secreted from many other cells of body.. zona glomerulosa is specialised for a family of steroid named mineralocorticoid synthesis.... although a bit of glucocorticoid and gonadocorticoid synthesis may take place in a very negligible amount!

complex mechanism.. apoptosis can take place only if a cell has mitochondria and DNA... RBC is devoid of both... it helps in that way... i'd rather not post d whole pathway of apoptosis.. some salient features are dat cytochrome c present in mitochondria is one of d mediators and d effectors are usually DNA-ases and other nuclear acting enzymes... instead, its d physical, thermal, or osmotic stress or other factors which causes Calcium influx and activases another group of proteases which cause haemolysis..
