it says that the image must be formed at the point of the object.....to matlab the rays need to retrace their path..that is only possible if the mirror reflects the image by the lens having the same height(as the image by the lens) and at the same position(as the image by the lens)....this happens wen object is at C then image is also at C.....and hence u have

1) apply mirror formula for lens...get v
2) d= v + raduis of curvature of mirror
= 30+20=50...
get it?

all those who gave the AITS yesterday, can any1 of u explain me the question on projectile being launched with acceleration into free space(gravity free)?

why is it that the velocity will remain the same(as given in the solution)????

For others who didnt give it the question was:

a projectile is launched vertically from a tower with a velocity Vo , the height pf the tower is Yo..its acceleration at any instant is give by a(vector)=k[ v(vector) X A(vector). A is given as A(vector) = c/y(-k^)...y is the vertical coordinate of the particle.......

wtf!?....yesterdays test was devastating....the solutions were traumatic...i dont care about them giving wrong solution(actually i really do)...nut they have given wrong answers with no solution!!!!!!!!!!!!! i mean wat's the point in a seperate sheet havin answer to all objective questions and then individual solutions with just a 1 letter answer??? fiitjee stands fr '**** ur money' for iitjee...i was so demoralized yesterday....damn!..and the worst part of it all....u dont know where ur going wrong?? ur entire concept is shaken fr some time...AND FIITJEE EVEN MANAGED SPONSORS..!!!!

DOUBT: DOES the charge induced due to the inner plate on the "inner surface" of the outer plate become significant?Doesnt it move into the earth leaving the outer plate uncharged??? If so then why do we consider the potential due to the outer plate when calculating the potential on the inner plate?????
