kartik but right ans which given by shinee is 2a
so according to me it can be like this

we have to waves asin(wt-kx)  &  asin[ pi/ 2 -sin(wt-kx)]
now they suprimposted so resultant
y=a[sin(wt-kx)+sin(pi/2-sin(wt-kx)
if you calculate it by trio formula
you will get y=a2sin pi/2  acos[pi/2 - 2(wt-kx)]]
                 y=a2sinpi/2  asin(2wt-2kx)        it is the eqen of stationary waves

so the resultant amplitude is 2asin pi/2= 2a

bro according to you  internal net force might be zero.but the c.m will move with the external force applied on it.

velocity of the particle is same as the velocity of wave.
so velocity of particle is 375m/s
now displacement=asin2(pi)f [1- t/v]
if you calculate it you will get dis=0.009m

if the mass of that two particles are m1 & m2 then
Vcm= - m1v + 2m2v
         ----------------
           m1+m2
if mass are same of that two particles then
Vcm= v/2

yes. it is like this..........

if V is the instanttenious velocity of any particle moving with constant velocity then
V=dx / dt
so dx=Vdt                                                  t2
if you intriget dx you will get  delta x=V[delta t]
 here t1&t2 are lower&uper limits                 t1
V is constant so it is out from the intrigation part
so delta x= Vdelta t
V=delta x / delta t=ave velocity=instanttenious velocity

you cannot apply energy convertion.because this is not totaly elastic collition.so whole KE willnot conserved.
here rod and shear both do rotational motion so you can apply angular momentum convertion here.

cube roots of unity are Z1=-1+root3i / 2  Z2=-1-root3i / 2 Z3=1
Z1,Z2  are called w,w^2
so there are therr roots of unity 1,w,w^2

1+w+w^2=0
w^3=1
like this you can also calculate 4th,5th,.........,nth root,too.

for nth root of unity 1^n=1,e^i(2pi/n),e^i(4pi/n)...........,e^i[2(n-1)pi/n]  n=1,2,......

here  sum of all root=0
 product of root is = ( -1)^n+1
