@Go nik- Previously there was some reservation for each state in each nitbut now only that state has 50% reservation for it's own seat the rest are based on all India rank:)..for example a person from state rajasthan got state 5 and all india 10,000..he might get into say nit-suratkal...but another person from andhra has state 300 but all india 6000..he might not get a seat there if both want the seat...but now it has changed

ya true it is scrapped..but still 50% resevation for own state!..btw..y ou mean if i want NIT-ABC say mech..then i can choose with my state(ABC) rank as well as all India rank depending on availability?  

suppose i am in state ABC..then i am allowed to use my state rank for nit-ABC..so when eill the counselling be for that?
