hi

in the alkaline earth metals,beryllium alone forms oxides and hydroxides which are amphoteric in nature.

hi

Cs and I are large atoms. thus their radius(atomic and ionic) will increase which results in less ENC and less lattice energy.

did u understand?

sir/ma'am,

the NCERT doesnt give proper comparison between the thermal stability and solubility of alkali and alkaline earth metal sulphates,carbonates, oxides, hydroxides and hydrogen suphates.  plz could give me a clear comparison for this.

if it is X + iY,then the sol is:

X +iY=(x+iy)^1/3
(X + iY) = x + iy
X^3 + i^3Y^3 + 3X^2iY + 3X^2 *i^2*Y^2 = x + iy

equate real and img part separately,

x = X^3 - 3XY^2
y = 3X^2Y - Y^3

thus in the eqn,
x/X+y/Y = (X^3 - 3XY^2)/X  + (3X^2Y - Y^3)/Y
            = X^2 - 3Y^2 + 3X^2 - Y^2
            = 4X^2 - 4Y^2
            = 4(X^2 - Y^2)

hope u understood this ,

do rate me

hi

i think the ans is 0 .
                         let y=cos(cosx)
dy/dx = -sin(cosx)cosx
this will be 0 at x=0. if u substitute this inthe2nd derivative u get 0. thus the function is min at 0. the min val is also 0.
hope this is correct.
if m correct do rate me.

how should the solubility product be  for precipitation?
greater than Kip or less than Kip?
some say less but many say greater.which is correct?

urgent!!!!

alkali metals dissolve in liquid ammonia to give deep blue solutiosn which are conducting in nature. the blue color is due to the ammoniated electron which absorbs energy from the visible region and imparts blue color to the solution. it is paramagnetic in nature.THE GENERAL EQN IS:
 M + (x+y)NH3  [M(NH3)x]+ + [E(NH3)y]-

alkaline earth metals dissolve in liquid ammonia to give deep blue-black solutions.
IS THIS WHAT U XPECTED
IF S DO RATE ME!!!
