in data quest manipals rank was 26th nd in outlook manipal was 6th best private colg and 30 smthn ovrall...in case u are talkn bout rankings....anyways i guess its on the fringes of the top 25 colleges ovrall and PSG,BITS GOA N PILANI,THAPR wld b the onli pvt colgs ahead of it...[depends on whether u take iiit-h as a pvt or a gvt colg]

i dnt think ane1 in d full possenion of his mental faculties can make an assertion that dis branch is superior to that...bullshi*....all engg branches are good depending on ur area of intrest as thr are enuf employmens generated nowadays across all engg sectors....so choose a branch u think u will love to work in the sector related to ur branch ....dont chose cse for instance jus cuz its d most preffered and u dont know a thing abt programming...for sm ppl dat may stil workout but in most cases it doesnt...if u want to do a software job or an mba thn ane branch will do.....

bms is the 3rd best colg in blore after pesit and rvce....its ok,,,if u r gtn a decent branch u can join it....placements are good....its btr than bit blore and msrit 4 sure

ya mayb but as u said its an intl placement....but stil thr are many big companies yet to come to goa campus schlum,goldman sachs,d e shaw,dell,intel,adobe etc....placements arent bad...they are pretty good but still thapar has a wider array of companies.....and avg at its goa is like some 3.8 lpa....wid time its bound to grow...

i dunt think highest at bits goa was 42 lpa.....cn u tell me the company offerin it?any link...mayb its tru and i kno bits goa wld b amng the best in the country btr than all nits like pilani is but currently just one batch has passed out man....give it some time...thapar is 50 yrs old and i dont thnk its inferior to bits goa

dude manipals campus first of all is at least 6 times bigger than jiits,it has 15 branches compared to 3-4 in jp....infra here is state of the art and for arnd 10000 students and dat student size again is 7 times bigger....now infrawise last year in dataquest survey manipal was placed infrawise 2nd all ovr the country....the ranking is ofc shit but manipal/vit infra is much btr than jiit noidas

.min salary is 2.4 lpa and it may b lower than that of jiit cus here thr is a branch cald printing tech wich is the least preferred branch here....and core companies pay a bit lower wich i think u wldnt kno....and lowest package is givn to like 2-3 ppl...dats not a scale to judge placements....no of companies recruitin from manipal wld b 5 times more than jiit ....and the quality is btr than that of jiit dude
student quality:
the closing rank for the last branh in manipal has been 5*** for the college having easily the largest batchsize in an engg college ryt now its quite impressive....i think dats btr than jiit....in jiit closing rank wld b arnd 20000 in aieee ...now ane general quota guy in manipal in cse,enc,IT wld hae a rnk btr than that have....u shld take the factor in mind that jp has arnd one fifth of total branches in manipal....
faculty:i dont think faculty aneways matters much...evn in iits i kno faculty aint gr8....if u r talkin abt no of profs holding phds...then again manipals count wld b more....
IC-yes jaypee is btr...but thats the only plus ovr manipal...
now rvce ,pesit are at par wid manipal so th makes manipal,rv,pesit>jp

no way is lnmit and jaypee btr than maniipal or evn vit...whoeva thinks so shld knoe thr are colleges like RVCE AND PESIT that r wayyy btr than LNMIT,JIIT....in terms of infra ,placements etc manipal.rv,vit,thapar,pesit etc all r btr.....i have a cousin at jaypee and wid a highest payscale of arnd 5 lpa wic is arnd half or lesser than wat payscales of the colleges i mentioned are...

dis placement data isnt the latest one ....my fren wnt 4 counsellin and he told me....so check ur facts fa***t ....and ya whoeva thinks manipal and vit are at par wid thapar ...man thats really a wrong perception as thrs quite some diff b/w the colleges u have stated are equal....i mean have u been to all the places and seen things 4 urself?how many of u have??theleka dude,...bol ab..i hav been to thapar and i guess its easily the 3nd/3rd pvt colg.....if u dispute it...i wld say contact sum1 who studies thr.....placement for the recent batch has an avg of 5 lpa for ece/cse

and ya many HRs get angry ovr management ppl here as thr arent enuf ppl sitn 4 placements as our clg doesnt allow more than 2 jobs...so 100% placements is a foresaken data..dis year the closing rank was 5600 odd 4 manipal wid a student intake of 1500+ and 15 branches.....i dunt thnk ppl are nuts to spend so much money widout bein guaranteed placements...but arseholes neva get d point

whoeva mentioned manipal must b nuts...and omi dude manipal has 100% placements...go to www.manipal.info and look for a link wich wld show u the list of 120 companies outta the 10 smthn xpected...u will find many big names thr....i will tell u a fact....my own uncle was sumtime bak[4 mnths ago] director of CIBC,newyork and i askd him if he cld recruit 4m our colg...and he was willing to send ova the companys hrs for recruitment fwid a payscale of 9 lpa ...and wn i told dis to mr kj kamath[placement dept head]..he said tht plz ask ur uncle to send ovr the company nxt year as this year more than 200-300 ppl are having a core job and evry1 got placed so thr wld b no1 sitn 4 d company...ye haalat hai yahan ki....since last 2 yrs companies have made a beehive 4 manipal....obviously they dint consult bigwigs like u...and who d hell u think u are to commentg on a 50 year old college wid the largest alumini base of all engg colgs...aur kuch nahin to yehi soch le ki tere desh ka higest forex generetor is manipal univ[in education sector]...v have companies like schlum,ms,yahoo,oracle,atkins,laing o rourke,yahoo ,goldman sachs etc 4 recruitment here

2-IIIT HYDERABAD AINT A PVG ENGG COLLEGE.....
3-HOSTELS BEIN GOOD OR NOT HAS GOT NTN TO DO WID A COLLEGE.....AND ABT DROPOUTS...PPL COLS LIKE VIT HAVE A DROPOUT OF LIKE 600+[IN 2006 VITEEE]....
4-A COLLEGE LIKE DAIICT WID CRAP PLACEMENTS AND RUNNING ONLY ONE NON APPROED BRANCH SHLDNT B MENTIONED IN D TOP 10 PVT COLLEGES.....DAIICTS ONLY SAVIN GRACE IS ITS STUDENT QUALITY AND DATS GOT MORE TO DO WID THE PERCEPTION...
5-NEITHER DOES A COLLEGE LIKE BITS GOA DESERVE TO B AMNG TOP 5 PVT ONES FOR AT LEAST 1-22 YRS NOW...ABHI KE BATCH KI PLACEMENTS KUCH KHAAS NAHIN HAI AND IS NOWHERE COMPARABLE TO THE HIGH STANDARDS MAINTAINED BY PILANI
