each o atom has two lone pairs. thus there are 4 lone pairs in total.... this structure is not quite stable. since lp-lp repulsion maximum, elemination happens n one water molecule comes out

the answer given by uday is quite right... i m just giving one the experimental methods......... density of a unit cell = (z*m)/(n*a^3) where z=no. of atoms in 1 unit cell m = mass of 1 mole of atom n= avagadros no. a= edge of the cube we get a by xray diffraction method. we know density. by this we calculate mass of 1 mole of atoms...by this we get the mass of 1 atom that is atomic mass no.

CH3Cl has greater dipole moment than CHCl3.....
bcoz in CHCl3 3 carbon chlorine bonds are symmetric, so dipole moment is cancelled but its not zero where as in the other one all the bonds dipole contribute in the same direction and the dipolemoment becomes more than CHCl3
