sorry to say ....akshay ..but option a is not an alpha-beta-hydroxy ketone..rather ..its option c.

i forgot to mention ...the competiyion is b/w option a  and option c ....these two form conjugated system after the completion of reaction...

no ... it is (c) ..

reaon 1 .. resonance stabilisation.

reason 2.. ..maximum  +i effect ...to balance the positive charge of the intermediate carbocation...

and of course ...reason 3 ... it is also a secondary carbocation ...(there is no tertiary cation formantion in any of the options)...

thats it.....!
