@frazzer give me the comparison of No. of students picked by microsoft., google, yahoo frm IIT-D,B,M,K to dat frm IIT-R or IIT-G....
waise metallurgy lekar tu CSc, Elec, Mechanical,Civil waalon ki placement ki chinta mat kar.......
@frazzer I nevr said google, yahoo, microsoft dont go to iit-r i jst said they hesitate 2 go nd nevr takes same no of engineers as they take frm Bombay, Delhi, Madras.......

@frazzer buddy either u r frm Hindi medium scul or u hav no idea of English .......i said 2 lacs less not 2 lacs u fool....... u urslf r goin to do metallurgy frm roorkee so u feel dat metal ROCKS... well i cant blame u as u r goin 2 study a LOWER branch dat too frm LOWER ranked IIT... MY ONE ADVICE----- Go to IIT-R, get 8.5 CGPA nd if u get package>5 lacs(evn after 4 yrs dude) den i wud really accept dat u were ryt nd i was rong....
why hav i said dis 2 u?? coz Rohit Sinha graduated frm Roorkee Elec 2-3 yrs back nd he was 8.5 pointer but cud finally manage 5 lac salary.....
Well ho sakta hai 4 saal baad wohi package ho jo tune bataaya hai.......heheheehheeh

Goa me MSc ka toh sawaal hi nahi uthtaa yaar..... tujhe NSIT me CSE mil rahi hai tu paagal hai jo goa me 5 saal lagaayega.....
Blev me ull always remain inferior 2 4yr CSE guys even if u get CSE nxt yr at Goa..... companies bhi last me hi tujhe preference dengi.....
afterall Comp. engineer ko MSc se kya faayeda hogaa yar........ us ek saal me tu ISB se 1 yr course kar le yaa fir kisi European univ. se MBA kar le(1yr)... theres no point in wastin 1 extra yr at GOA....
pilani hota toh soch bhi sakta the.Goa me thodi woh benefit milega....
If u r Delhite den definitely join NSIT........
Agar ek ladke ki achchi placement lagti hai toh iska matlab yeh thodi ki baakiyon ki bhi waoisi hi lagti hai....dont go by dat AMAZON placement....

@Ekns.......Bro since ur goin Pilani EEE take few electives related to CSE nd den ull becum Electronics + Computer Engineer.yipppiiiiiii!!!!! accordin to jazzer21........

Belev me Avg. EnI package<< Mech at Pilani,... So u can take EnI Goa if u wanna reverse the trend at Goa....

At pilani campus EnI is considered much-much INFERIOR to EEE--U can hav a luk at Avg. package of both.....
If an EEE guy takes electives related to MBA/Marketing den it doesnt mean dat he will get da same job/package as MBA guy....
At pilani many EnI students Try to get transferrd to either Mech. or EEE nd dats true...........
NIT-Surathkal Mech is the Best available option.

Join DCE Mech ..Just bcoz of CSE dont take d risk of joinin a new coll. ---
Also da craze of CSE is diminishin... Future is really gud wid Mech or ECE/EEE type of branches...U cant predict the trend after 4 years fer CSE....
DCE mech placement will b bettr dan 1st placement of BITS-Hyd.

Companies hire engineers not jst on bein an IITian bcoz if dat hav been da case why IIT-G students r behind IIT-Kgp in terms of placement... Both r not easy to reach locations..... All dat matters is an institute's CREDIBILITY ... Dont thnk dat if IIT-D,K,Kgp,M,B r gud others comin up later on da scene r goin 2 b gud too....
Every1 here will agree dat Credibility of Top 5 IITs, Top 3 NITS,Pilani,NSIT/DCE,IIIT-H can so easily b matchd by new IITs within 4-5 years... Even non-IITians r gettin 40-50 lacs packages...
Let others join IIT-P nd 4 yrs later ask dem their 1st package nd Ull knw dat NSIT-CSE was a correct decision....

Many ppl r happy wid da fact dat day will hav to live at IIT_D fer 1st two years....but do u knw wat r da SIDE EFFECTS--
1. Ull b discriminatd at IIT-D... after all IIT-D students obtained under 700 AIR to get da brnch u r gettin at 3000 approx... this is still very small disadvantage....
2.Ull nevr get da startin package as dat of IIT-D or even IIIT-Hyd/NSIT/BITS unless u achieve sumthin ULTIMATE in ur 4 yr course...yeah itz true dat package depends on a person's capability but remember bettr da coll. bettr r da chances nd in da comin 10 yrs. IIT-P cannot challenge BITS/NSIT...
3.ofcourse ull get IIT Tag wid Mech degree but speculate ur chances of challengin other IITians includin ur frndz interms of placement/package...jst IIT tag cannot fetch u a 7 lac package....
4.Altho ull spend 2 yrs at IIT-D but wat abt da nxt 2 yrs... There r chances dat at da tym of placement u will b at punjab campus---wid no impressive infrastructure or facilities....
5.Many ppl belev dat now dat new IITs r opened every IITian wid CSE, Mech, Elec will fetch a Very gud job wich is not true....I believe dat opening of new IITs will force the companies to select candidates frm Top5 IITs, Pilani,DCE/NSIT,IIIT-H,Top3 NITs nd dats all....atlest reputed companies visit only these coll. at present d will continue 2 do the same even after 4 yrs..U can hav a luk at IIT-R & IIT-G placements(of CSE & Electrical) wich r not comparable to pilani ... Avg placement of IIT-R is 2 lacs less dan dat of EEE-pilani...
6.Finally wat matters is a gud package... without bettr facilities wat r d chances dat u r goin 2 bcum a very gud engineer frm punjab.....
IF U REALLY WANNA GO TO PUNJAB I LL NOT EVEN TRY TO STOP U BUT I CAN BET THAT THE TOPPERS FRM PUNJAB(EVEN D CSE,ELEC. ONES) CANNOT GET BETTR PACKAGES DAN DAT OF GUD STUDENTS FRM NSIT CSE, PILANI-CSE,EEE,IIIT-H--CSE.....not bcoz dey r not gud but bcoz no gud company will b willin to take dem in the 1st placement(i mean d chances r slim)
NSIT Cse is the BESTY available fer u... those who r askin u to join New IIT plz ask them their other options nd den decide... Dont go on wat dey say but ask them their Roll no. or registration no of IIT,BITSAT nd AIEEE nd check urself...
U hav a golden opprtunity to NSIT-CSE dont miss dat....
Joinin a new Coll is always a risk....
Tag is impor. but ur career is even more important.... New IITs will not give u facilities, extra curricullar activities,no electives,,,,,so do u really think dat gud companies wll hire u jst on ur GPA basis??????? Extra curricullar matters a lot....
2 years of HEAVEN(IIT-D) + Two yrs of HELL(IIT-P)... the main prob is dat ull spend ir INITIAL 2 years at IIT-D not d later ones.... ur placement wud hav been much bettr if u had 2 live final 2 years at IIT-D.....
