actually sir there,s no mistake in the ques. nd i did the same as u did but the ans. given is false...................................................

well thn i just put n=1 i.e 5(pie)/4 in tan3x -tan2x/1+tan3x.tan2x it came indeterminant can it be a valid reson for it to be false.......although tan x=1 is the same nd it satiesfies it.

i m really confused..................may be the ans. is misprinted in the book............

you can determine range by-

1. representing x in terms of y.

if y =f[x] try to express as x= g[y] , then domain of g[y] represents possible values of y , which is range og f[x]

2. use graph

set of y co-ordinate of the graph of function is the range.

3.in case of monotonic continuous functions min. nd max value lie at the end points of domain.

apply operation C2 ---> C2 -C3

f(x) = 1          -1           x+1
2x         -2x          x(x+1)
3x(x-1)    -3x(x-1)     x(x-1)(x+1)

f(x) = -x^2(x-1)(x+1) inside determinant 1   1 1
2   2 1
3   3 1
hence f[x]=0 (since two columns c1 nd c2 are identicle...
so f[x} is independent of x
hence ans is zero............
