the best batches are usually the top 3/4 batches. And yeah u ll study from a lot of teachers (i studied from around 15-20 in 3 months). Teachers get changed almost every month.

hey about the food, i found the bansal's cafeteria food quite hygenic n good otherwise. You can book ur tiffin from there. All messes suck in KOTA. No mess is good.

Yes u can complete the DPPs. And u dont have to complete ONLY the DPPs, there will be other home work from the study material (called sheets there) and from books (like hcv).Yeah shuffling isnt done after each review test. Usually batches are shuffled after every 2 or 3 review tests.

Dont lose ur confidence in bansal.U ll see there the brightest of the students. And the hardest working ever. Don't get demotivated. Just work for urself. You have to just keep working till the last day. And u ll make it. And dont get too much pressurized too. Bansal/Kota has hyped the JEE a bit too much. Every other guy u meet is preparing for JEE. Lotsa rumors are blown out of proportion. Just ignore everything.Just keep doing bansal's material. That's it. Daily practice problems (DPPs) are quite challenging. They are double the JEE level. You can leave them every now n then if u dont have time. Do them sincerely otherwise. And don't get baffled if you cant complete the study material regularly in the beginning. Initially you will feel that the course is running too fast but gradually you will pick the pace. And have some fun too. Do make some good friends. You can't live there on your own. You have to find someone to share your problems and enjoy together. May be you would like to see a movie after every review test (which happens every five weeks). It's good for recreation. Best of luck! And always take it easy while in bansal. :)

Hey coz u live in Delhi, i wont advise u to join bansal. The environment is quite sick there. It's for nerds. They have over 100 students in a batch. You cant get ur doubts cleared. Course load is too high. That doesnt matter but u ll know once u get there. They wont let u breathe i promise. Delhi has pretty good coaching centres, specially in punjabi bagh n kalu sarai areas. Join BT or FIITJEE. good luck

Hey guys here's an amazing video which I came across recently.....so here's about the fellow and the vid. He wants to change the whole education system.....must watch video - www.ted.com/talks/view/id/66 (You can switch on the subtitles if you can't understand his accent) Sir Ken Robinson makes an entertaining and profoundly moving case for creating an education system that nurtures (rather than undermines) creativity. Why don’t we get the best out of people? Sir Ken Robinson argues that it’s because we’ve been educated to become good workers, rather than creative thinkers. Students with restless minds and bodies — far from being cultivated for their energy and curiosity — are ignored or even stigmatized, with terrible consequences. “We are educating people out of their creativity,” Robinson says. It’s a message with deep resonance. Robinson’s TEDTalk has been distributed widely around the Web since its release in June 2006. The most popular words framing blog posts on his talk? “Everyone should watch this.” A visionary cultural leader, Sir Ken led the British government’s 1998 advisory committee on creative and cultural education, a massive inquiry into the significance of creativity in the educational system and the economy, and was knighted in 2003 for his achievements. His latest book, The Element: How Finding Your Passion Changes Everything, a deep look at human creativity and education, was published in January 2009. “Ken’s vision and expertise is sought by public and commercial organizations throughout the world.” source - http://www.careers-india.com/2010/01/07/ken-robinson-says-schools-kill-creativity/

See, don't panic. IIT is not the only thing that's gonna rule your life. There's a lot more to do with your life than ending it for this one stupid reason. There are many colleges u can aim for - BITS, it has great international recognition. NITs and many more. What matters is what you do after entering these colleges. IIT is not great itself, it's just the JEE which makes it great. And the students, obviously. There are many non-IITians which are more successful than IITians. And remember this - every IITian is not sucessful and every successful person is not IITian.

"various sites and wikipedia provide info about any given university's levels,, In the US, there are tons of great univs, not dominated by IITs, BITs, NITS like here. So you'll have even a top 100 college almost at par with and giving good competition to top 20. Also, www.collegeboard.com, the website for SAT, also has college searching facilities where u can search for colleges. One point to remember is that the more selective a college is (% acceptance rate will be given there, the lower the better) the greater it is considered by employers and graduate schools"

Basically, you should have good SAT scores. SAT has reading, writing and math sections. visit the official website of SAT: www.collegeboard.com Plus you need teacher recommendations, good essays, interviews, excellent extra-curricular record, they assess your whole academic career. Many students, despite having high SAT scores get rejected, specially when it comes to the Ivy league.

I'd like to share a fact about the guy....as i gotta know from bansal's teacher. He, respected Mr. DC, flunked in all (yes, all) the exams in first sem....all due to the hindi medium!! And since then IIT hates coaching insti's lyk anything, coz, obviously they'd not expected AIR 1 to give such a performance...!
In fact, it will be tough to set the min % to 80 coz of the state boards...many state boards are tougher than CBSE...so 80 might be too harsh for them.
