Catalogs Discussion Forums -> Non IIT Institutes -> Extended Merit List !!!!!!!!! -> Go to message

Can anyone tell me what kind of colleges are those which are included in the extended merit list of JEE ? I have already gone through their websites but I can't decide how beneficial it will be to take admission to one of them. I'm a last year passout, and those of my friends who were in extended list last year, did not go for it. They didn't even try to find out the pros and cons of these colleges. One of them-IIST also offers a course of BE in Aerospace, and I'm quite ready to take it if I get it, but only if the college is considered good and there is ample job opportunity. Please help me, such decisions are very crucial for anyone and GoIIT is the only website which I trust.

Dear experts & friends,

                                         Please help me decide which branch of engineering would be the best for me whatever college I join. If you know some websites or books/journals which provide a good description of all the branches of engg., then please let me know. All I want is - to know the merits and demerits, job prospects,etc., of all the fields of engg, so that I can take the correct decision in life.

                                         Everyone will be rated. Those who provide the names of websites or books/journals, will be saluted !

Thanks, I'll send my complaint to this address. I have already sent one at another address which they gave me but no reply has come yet.

Actually, on FIITJEE's official web site, there is no option for entering a username & password for OSI. I tried to enter the same in the boxes provided on the top right corner of the Home Page of www.fiitjee.com, but I received a message saying that the username/password is incorrect. Is that the correct place for OSI login ?

Friends,
           I have enrolled myself for FIITJEE's AITS for JEE 2008. They have sent me a User ID & a password for "Online Student Interface", but I cannot access my account. I've tried several times, but it fails. If anyone of you who can access his/her a/c, please guide me. Rates assured !

ria, what u r saying is correct, but that is the condition for the point being on the origin side of the line x + y = (root3)/2, not necessary for the point to be within the triangle. Plot a graph and see. One thing is for sure that the point lies on the circle & the triangle is completely inside it as seen in the graph.

There's no value of for which the point p lies inside the triangle OAB because p lies on the the circle x2+y2 = 1 and the OAB lies completely within this circle, so no part of the circle goes inside the and therefore p always lies ouside the .

Calculate the mass of 1 litre of moist air at 27 oC when the barometer reads 753.6mm of Hg and the dew point is 16.1 oC. (Saturated vapour pressure of water at 16.1 oC is 13.6 mm of Hg, density of air at NTP is 0.001293 gm/cc ; density of saturated vapour at NTP is 0.000808 gm/cc).

I'm not asking for the complete solution, I want to know just your method of solving & the answer which you are getting.

Thanks Hitesh and Nithy. I have understood the derivation Nithy has given but I still have a problem with the assumption. What is use of assuming Kh to be very small ?

Anyways, I have rated both of you.

In ionic equilibrium, hydrolysis of salts of weak acid & strong base,

Kh= Kw /Ka

I simply don't understand the meaning of this expression. Moreover, it is assumed that Kh is very small. What will happen if this assumption is not made ?

Please be absolutely clear in your explanation, this is a very complicated topic(for me at least). Do not worry about rates.
