SOLUTION TO Q 29 (SET 2)

Let A be the event that the balls are white and red. Let E1 be the event that bag I is selected, E2 be the event that bag II is selected and E3 be the event that bag III is selected.

Bag I has total of 6 balls (2 black + 1 white + 3 red).

Bag II has total of 7 balls (4 black + 2 white + 1 red).

Bag III has total of 12 balls (5 black + 4 white + 3 red).

Thus, we need to find P(E2/A).

Yes! You can if you are really determined . Just have faith in yourself.

If you choose to study all by yourself, then here are some tips which you may find useful:

  • Start your preparation right from the beginning of Class XI and exploit the 2 years to the fullest.
  • Buy those books which have solutions to their questions and read them thoroughly.
  • It would be better if you enroll yourself in Distance Learning Division of Brilliant Tutorials, Akash Institute, Narayana, Resonance or any institute of your choice which provides quality study materials and conducts regular tests.
  • Remember that unless you give tests, you won't get the feeling of IIT-JEE.
  • Plan your study in a systematic way. Devote equal time to all the three subjects.
  • Read the theories very thoroghly and strengthen your basics.
  • Work out MCQs, Assertion-Reason type questions, Match the Column type questions and those covered under IIT-JEE.
  •

In the Times of India, I had read that the minimum marks for getting into IITs is somewhere around 175 or 180 (for General candidates). For SC/ST, it is even lower!
