Well, optical fibres are of 2 types....

Type 1 : single mode

In this, thr r 2 layers of optical fibre with outer having lower refractive index..... THTS FUIGURE 1

Type 2 : multi mode

In this, ther r no layers, the refractive index decreases progressively as a fucntion of distance frm the central axis.

sometime ago i read in THE TIMES OF INDIA that in 2007 the INDIVIDUAL cut offs for Physics Chemistry and Maths were 3,4 and 1 marks respectively.

Before any one thinks that i am insane let me tell u hw the cutoff's were calculated.... [ acc. to the newspaper ofcourse ]

a total merit list was prepared and the cutoff were decided acc. to the marks of the last 20% students [ out of total lot ]....

Now, the last 20% are non-serious students, so they can never go beyond 1,3,4..

But, the overall cutoff was high as it should be [ around 200-210 marks out of 486 ]

This was done becuse in 2006 there were some flaws in the decided cutoffs and RTI had asked IITs to get a method which did not have discrepancies....

The conclusion that i took out of the data was that :

We have 3 individual cutoffs and one overall. If the individual cutoffs are so low, then we can easily clear these cutoffs. So, a student whose 2 subjects are strong and one is weak, can clear the cutoff easily. So, this means, that the student just bothers to clear the cutoff in the subject in which he is weak, and try to do as many questions for other two subjects as possible, to get near to the overall cutoff.......

If stone moves opposite to the direction of motion, then vel. is 5 m/s in opposite direction.

PE of sphere = Translational KE of sphere + Rotational KE of sphere

mgh = (1/2)mv² + (1/2)Iw²

w = v/r

gh = (1/2)v² + (1/2)(I/m)(v/r)²

solve to get v [ Here I is the moment of inertia of sphere ]

guys we cannot deny this possibility....it may be true and the facts given by the person are true indeed... though maybe the links between the facts and this theory may be imaginary...but who knows ???

Tofay in The times of India, i got a front page news that IITJEE 2007 cutoffs were just 1,4,3 for maths, physics and chemistry respctively !!!!!!!

I just coudn't believe it !!!!

I am nt able to understand the reason for some students like me being disqualified !!!

Please do tell me if i am missing some part of info......

Look,

If we look at the powers of 7, we only get the last digit of the number [ after opeing the powers ] as 7,9,3,1

Eg : 7^1 is 7, 7^2 is 49 and so on....

Now, 7^x + 7^y is divisible by 5 if sum of 7^x and 7^y is 10 or 5 or 0. here if we get the last digit of 7^x as 7 and 7^y as 3, we get 10 and hence it is divisble.

Now, this was the theoritical part. nw the number of cases.

If x=1,5,9-----------97 we get last digit 7^x as 7. and y=3,7,11,15-----------99,we get sum as 10 and it is divisible by 5.

similarly, if we get for 9 and 1.

So, total cases acc. to condition / total cases possible

I hope now its ok !!

Well, this has been a very unfortunate incident with one of our friends. Plz ask him nt to lose hope, let him try this year too, if he is nt able to then e can drop, but ask him nt to think of dropping from now. And if god permits, he will clear iit this year itself, and do tell him that god will never let him down.

CSE covers both hardware and software, IT covers only software, both are approximately equal, except that CSE gives u a bigger exposure towards technology.
