CHEMISTRY-

Physical chemistry:-
-R.C.Mukerjee (try to almost complete the book)
-P.Bahadur
-IIT guide by O.P.Agarwal

Organic chemistry:-
-Morrison Boyd (selectively study...very nice book!)
-Solutions to Morrison Boyd (IIT profs. make lots of problem from this book!!!)
-IIT guide by O.P.Agarwal (problems only,don?t go in for theory)

Inorganic chemistry:-
-IIT guide by O.P.Agarwal is sufficient.

PHYSICS-

Mechanics:-
1) Resnick Halliday Part 1(this book is superb provided you have somebody to explain it for you..)

2) H.C.Verma Part 1(very nice book..lots of conceptual problems ..but no complicated problems)

3) IIT guide by S.L.Gupta (one should try to solve the unsolved questions of this book)

4) I.E.Irodov (most of the problems are quite good.Leave heavy dose mathematical problems)

Electricity and Magnetism:-
1)Resnick Halliday Part 2 (this is very nice book provided
you have somebody to explain the text for you)

2)H.C.Verma Part 2 ( problems are conceptual , but not sufficient)

3)I.E.Irodov (only those problems that are in your course)

Modern Physics:-
1)H.C.Verma Part 2 (modern physics portion should be done as much as possible)

2)IIT guide by S.L.Gupta (solved problems).

MATHS-
-S.L.Loney for trigonometry,coordinate geometry and vectors (complete)
-I.A.Maron for calculus (selected portions)
-G.N.Berman for calculus (selected portions)
-M.L.Khanna?s IIT guide is quite good for practice
-Tata McGraw Hill (if time permits then and then only)

and questions depends on how u have practiced

*if the bullet is fired horizontally*.

initial momentum = m1v1

Now , for the pendulum to move a full complete circle the velocity of the bob after the collision should be = ^(5gl)

.: Final momentum would be = m1v1/3 + m^(5gl)

Since momentum is conserved just before and after collision
m1v1 = m1v1/3 + m^(5gl)
v1 = (3m5gl)/2m1

-3 = 1/2mv2 + PE

-3 = 2 + PE

PE = -5.
