i wanted you to know some things

regarding to bits

bits goa is a college where its first batch comes out after completing its four years this year so all companies give just an A grade to that college

for you to do higher studies you have to attend an interview for visa(for iits not required)and as an average salary you will be offered low salary compared to pilani

but one thing was shure its better to join bits goa over nit colleges

but if you get seat in pilani campus that should be your first preference

as all software companies classify pilani next to iit, but goa is not that reputated

as you got mech goa in first iteration you might get mech pilani in further iterations as this year bits score is tougher

i also suggest you to go and strike off goa preferences if you are offerered pilani campus in the fourth iteration

please dont join in nits ,you may join for a single reason as they are less expensive and you can use rest of money in abroad for higher studies if you are interested

finally your preferencial order must be

bits-pilani>bits-goa>nit

if you want to go for higher studies also this order is good

i heard that any branch in iit is same for first 2 years ,is it right

just forget about goa as it is just an a grade college

for example TCS(software company)

bits-pilani-4.5lakhs

bits-goa-3.5lakhs

iit even mining-6lakhs

per year in begining

so just thrash out bits pilani from your mind

if you want you enquire your seniors in iit

i know this as your professor for maths in kharagpur lives side of my house

go for iit even its mining in kharagpur,as an example i can say

for money sake

bits average salary for computers is -8 lakhs

where as the one who take even mining in kharagpur gets minimum of 6 lakhs

higher studies wise

you can get seat in any of american universities of your choice

in bits you have to take only single offer ,but in iits as many as you can

visa is easy to get as an iitian without an interview

so friend east or west iit is the best

sir i think you got a way that is bits-pilani conducts admission for 2nd semister in the month of november,you just allow your son to drop,if he fails you go for 2nd semister counselling you will shurely get a good seat,so you even drop in the middle if you are not confident you can get a seat

sir,i am an example of your sons kind

i got last year aieee AIR4000,BITSAT-282missed by one mark,and IITJEEnot qualified,and in local state entrance got 1000

all my family members said to join in aieee,but i want to drop

i finally won and dropped

this year i got air 4800in iitjee(6033144),bitsat 310 ,these are not big ranks but they are certainly acheivement for me

i request you to allow your son to drop an year and please dont give him a stress by comparing with this years ranks ,i saw so many students who dropped like your son and acheived spectacular ranks

but another sugession is you just apply for bitsat and aieee so that your son may change his mind as he gets top seats in these colleges,if he do not change its better to drop if not

he may feel sad in whole of his life as he missed iitjee

i personally think that your support while dropping is very very important

friends i am sorry that i completely disagree with you,i believe there is a coach behind every winner,i believe fiitjee ,brilliant,cp.......etc always think of their students sucess as theirs

if you feel i am wrong just ignore this this is just my opinion

please say whether i can get a seat in mining,ism dhanbad in any other branches
