Post JEE once should analyse one's goals in life as to what are your Interests and what sort of field you want to make you career in.Don't get biased by others' successes in a particular field .I said this due to your peculiar options. Now,IIST is an offbeat path that sets up a fixed direction for you right from the beginning of your under-graduation.The privileges offered are nice and you get to work with ISRO,but you may find yourself cast into a definite genre. If you are a person totally committed to space research in future,go for IIST or else go for general options. Instead of MSc IIT K economics ,I would suggest Mathematics and Scientific computing unless you have stong affinity for economics. However,if you are fresh and unbiased with no interest compulsion,go for IT BHU Mechanical.Mechanical Department in IT BHU is one of the oldest and most renowned. I believe you may also look at BTech Mining IIT KGP if Branch change is on your cards.(IIT KGP is normally considered ideal for prospective branch changers.)

Number of hours reqd to be put is variable from person to person. In general, for a person beginning his preparation right from XIth,I suggest 5-6hrs. on regular basis is enough to complete the portion on time for JEE.Being a fresher has the advantage of doing same things both for Board and JEE.In addition to keeping up-to-date with the school studies,I suggest 4-5 hrs. DAILY is enough to complete the portion on time and revise properly before JEE.If you are a dropper,I believe you must give in that extra 3-4 hours for concept buildup and practice. At the end it all depends on your sincerity and dedication as I firmly believe that "IT's not the number of hours you work, but the amount of work that you do in those hours MATTERS" BEST OF LUCK!!! DISCLAIMER: The suggestion is purely out of my experience.I tried to study 3-4 hrs daily, which was tough with 6 hrs school and then another 5 hrs at coaching, but couldn't do.So ended JEE on bad note.Take cue from my mistake and be more regular, punctual and disciplined

IIT Roorkee is one of the best places to do CIVIL Engineering in INDIA.Apart from that the very IIT brand leaves little to elucidate the merits inherent in the choice which makes it superior to BITS Pilani. However,I've said this before and I'll like to repeat that before making any decision do consider these 2 factors: 1) your INTERESTs 2) your VISION (what you really wanna do after BTech) If you have deep interest in a particular field, then opt it as BE in BITS PILANI rather than going for a possible Dual degree in IIT R in a branch that you may not like.If you are a dropper, then giving away that extra year for a degree that you may not find useful is not worth the loss of time either. However, rest assured of the quality of academics and growth opportunities in IIT R are no less than that of BITS.Undergraduation from an IIT is a much valuable thing. It defines your profile upon the sublime prowess of brand IIT.The tag stays with you for a lifetime. Do take the best decision and stand by it always without any further regret... ALL THE BEST!!

Let's imagine that the cube having a charge q at one of its vertex is adjacent to 7 other cubes(3cubes in its plane and the 4 cubes just above them) in such a manner that the charge q lies at the centre of the LARGE CUBE formed of the total 8 cubes.
Now the net electric flux due to the charge passing through LARGE CUBE = q/e0 (by Gauss' law ) By symmetry,we can say Electric flux due to the charge passing through Each surface of LARGE CUBE = q/6e0
Each face of LARGE CUBE is made of 4 faces of 4 Smaller cubes(1 face of each). So,Electric flux passing through each face of the smaller cube = q/24e0 So,Electric flux passing through a cube's side to a charge placed at its vertex = q/24e0

By now you must have studied almost every topic by now ,at least you have some knowledge about each topic in Physics,Chemistry,Maths. Now,all you need to do is to STRENGTHEN your BASICS.(IIT JEE is more about basic concepts and their application rather than high-fi and tough problems). You give equal importance to all 3 subjects. For Chemistry,FINISH all the NCERT TECTBOOKS( XI & XII) THOROUGHLY.Thoroughly means each and every point ;each and every name should be there in your mind;PAY SPECIAL IMPORTANCE to CHARTS,DIAGRAMS,BOX ITEMS,and you must have mental picture of these in your mind.As you can see from previous yr's paper, some high scoring questions (like 1 complete Match the following ) are lifted from NCERT.So,Please complete NCERT thoroughly.Secondly, you must be fully versed with all the basic formulas (esp. in IONIC,Thermody,Electrochemistry)and try to apply these formulas on certain problems to get well versed. For PHYSICS,go through HC VERMA,this is a general guidance that I give to my juniors;but you may refer other good books like RESNICK HALLIDAY WALKER etc.Main motive must be to UNDERSTAND THE BASIC CONCEPTS & GET ACQUAINTED with the RELATED FORMULAS(for this go through solved examples of HC VERMA and try to solve the ex problems as much you find time)(you can go for other good book). If you are left with time, just go through NCERT .Again there are certain concepts beautifully explained in NCERT,which can help you & some questions are lifted from there as well(one of the modern Physics question 2 years back was a liftup from a diagram given in NCERT ;it may be that it is present in other books as well;but still I suggest if possible do refer NCERT) For MATHS,first of all,GET BY HEART ALL THE FORMULAS.This is a must. Some people think that they will remember only the most basic formula and then they will derive other formulas on the spot.(I had friends who did so).I think this is not appropriate as you will waste much time in that. So,learn as many formulas as you can and maintain a list of them that will help you revise at the end.Refer some good book like TMH or MCQ by DASGUPTA or Arihant series or other good book recommended to you.DON'T SOLVE MORE PROBLEMS BUT SOLVE MORE TYPE OF PROBLEMS.SO,solve as many problems of one type as to gain confidence and then move on.Keep track of time.If you are taking too much time for a problem, just mark it and move on.Later after finishing the entire topic ,go to that problem . Lastly, try to go through previous years' JEE papers and try to solve them. This will help you understand your level of preparation and find your weak links.Take mock tests every weekend if you are not enrolled in a test series & give them like you are giving JEE with full 6 hrs. papers. ALL THE BEST...(and if you like any of my advices,do rate me!!!)

See,6 months are nothing when you compare yourself with some of the best minds fighting out for 2 (or even 3 )yrs..So,no miracle can be done in 6 months. That's something any one will tell you.But I say gettinginto 2000s in IIT JEE is no MIRACLE and so it's still possible. See you must have studied almost every topic by now ,at least you have some knowledge about each topic in Physics,Chemistry,Maths. Now,all you need to do is to STRENGTHEN your BASICS.(IIT JEE is more about basic concepts and their application rather than high-fi and tough problems). You give equal importance to all 3 subjects. On branch to branch basis,BIT MESRA stands far superior to NIT Nagpur.BIT MESRA is one of the reputed institutes with very good infrastructure and other facilities. I would definitely recommend BIT MESRA in any case.

Electrical Engineering at IT BHU is one of the finest in the nation. You will get lots of opportunities to learn and grow at this pioneer institute of India's technological herald.IT BHU has got the latest facilities and eminent professors. Please don't consider this as my personal bias;I believe that people commit a great blunder in overlooking the prowess and quality of IT BHU which is no less than any IIT.IT BHU is in itself a powerful brand with great alumini legacy . Moreover,ITBHU will get an IIT tag in the near future, which will further enhance the quality of competitive learning environment, already ambient here. BITS PILANI is a good institute. But on same branch to branch basis, esp Electrical Engineering which has been a gem of IT BHU,I recommend Electrical Engineering at IT BHU.

DISCLAIMER:Since you didn't provide your priorities ot interests or your future plans,so I have simply arranged the list maintaining balance between gud branch and gud college.Every branch has its merits but I have considered the applicability and versatility of the branch in grading them.Branch change at IIT KGP is considered to be more plausible than at any other IIT.This is a general perception and so I have tried to bring it up in cases where similar low branches were available at other IITs metallurgical and materialscience @bombay .material and metallurgical @kgp, kanpur metallurgical and material; @kgp,roorkee chemical @roorkee industrial eng.@kgp civil @guwa ,roorkee chem. science and tech. @roorkee .maths and computing @guwa ..biotech and biochemical @kgp biological ad bioengi. @kanpur .biotech @guwahati ,madras, roorkee mining @kgp naval and ocean @madras eng. physics @guwa, agri. and food @madras

See since you are branch conscious, you must seriously consider coming to IT BHU.It's Mechanical engineering Department is one of the oldest and finest in the nation and same can be said about its electrical engineering department. Both are equally good and have their own merits. While Electrical Engineering is something more conceptual,Mechanical Department, particularly in ITBHU,has a very hectic course. Mechanical engineering,as you know,is an evergreen versatile branch with the most wide spread applications.Where there is machines, you need a MEchanical engineer. It's a real challenging course, particularly at IT BHU.If you are eager to face challenges and take on tough tasks, then Mech would be most welcome branch, because it rewards too. But,at your AIR you might be tempted to go for Elctrical Engineering which won't be a bad idea either. Please don;t consider it my personal bias in favour of Electrical Engineering but if you have interest in Physics topics like Electricity, and Magnetism (like me) and want to keenly learn more about it in future, then go for Electrical Engineering...it's an exciting branch with ever increasing avenues of research and development. There's no right or wrong. It's the matter of perspective:which one you accept and which one you discard.I have tried to give you both the views. Make a choice wisely and then don't look back.Back yourself always with confidence. ALL THE BEST.... (would be glad to see you at IT BHU which may soon become IIT BHU in the near future )

If you are not interested in a particular branch and just want yourself in an IIT,then go for metallurgy in the top 5 old IITs.That's better than any branch at IIT Guwahati. If you are branch conscious and want a good branch like CS,EE,then go for ITBHU or even BITS Pilani. However,it would be unwise to leave the opportunity of joining a college through IIT JEE unless you plan to give JEE2011. In any case, other colleges don't stand anywhere before above mentioned institutes,so don't think about that. Before making any decision, take into consideration the 2 factors: 1)Your Interest 2)Your Future vision(as to what you want to do after BTech) Set your priorities right,.....and make the best suitable choice. ALL THE BEST

"Don't get disheartened"...that's what everyone says. But they never actually realise the excruiting ache that can keep you miles away from being even yourself. That's when you think about quitting. But I say you have got better answers in you for responding this situation than saying "I QUIT". Trust me!!! Having gone through a similar trauma in life,I believe "SELF-BELIEF" holds the key.I am an ardent GOD lover and feel more confidence in HIM than on anything else.SO,I personally, recommend you to get over such "DISASTERS" as soon as possible and let things run the way HE wants.CONTINUE DOING THE WORK THAT YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO DO and leave all worries for the Almighty to take care for. I believe you must have given your 100% and even if not don't get upset. It's high time you scrutinize your faults and rectify them to avoid any such eventuality in future. IIT JEE is a very prestigious, one of its kind in the elite class of Super achievements. But at the end of the day,its just an EXAM!An exam that SUPPOSEDLY tests your knowledge, concepts, confidence etc within the constraints of mere 6 hrs! So,IIT JEE may have helped you achieve your dreams easily, but it is not the NECESSARY or SUFFICIENT condition for the fulfillment of your aspirations. It;s not the only WAY to success. You may have one path short to choose from, yet you must choose wisely and think about moving forward in life, rather then letting your focus get diverted by such trivial things like PARENTAL JEERS.You are matured enough to know that NOT ALL THE THINGS TOLD BY OUR PARENTS are GOLDEN WORDS.Take on any such comments as a test by HIM to test your FAITH in him....GO through this lean patch under the shrouds of despair and hopelessness with confidence(on HIM) and you will behold a BRIGHTER DAY,ever witnessed, waiting out there for you ........
remember this.... "Regret is just 2nd failure! If you have FAITH in HIM,nothing will go wrong! Let bygones,be bygones for MISTAKES are just SPEED BRAKERS in the path of DISASTER!!so.... ....time to CHEER UP and OUTPERFORM yourself!!!" ALL THE BEST for future ventures.....

Mech in IIT M or IIT K are very good choices in themselves.Of course, opening ranks at IIT KGP gives it a rather dull appearance as compared to other IITs but rest assured that IIT KGP is still one of the finest IITs. Being a South Indian you may prefer to go for IIT M.IIT M provides a unique opportunity of changing brach in the 1st sem itself. So,it won't be a bad thing to go for IIT M. DUAL degrees are useful in a way that it gives u an extra degree in just 1 more year of study. But it somewhat restricts your growth options. If you are a fresher, you can think of taking that extra year.In my opinion if you are a dropper, dual degree is not a good choice. However, take 2 important factors in mind before you make the final call: 1)your INTEREST 2)your VISION for future(what you want to do after your graduation) Whatever you decide,do it wisely and stick to it;don't regret later. ALL THE BEST for future!

It depends upon your perspective and also your vision.THe position you see yourself standing in ,after 4 years is also an umportant factor in deciding your present choice. If you have a STRONG interest in a particular branch and want to make big in it,then go for that particular branch. But if you don't,then I would recommend you to go for IIT D . IIT D is better in terms of quality of environment and campus life. You will have greater opportunities to grow and learn at IIT D and finally you can better prepare for your future in Delhi. You can get help and guideline for future that you might miss at IIT R

Trigonometry forms a basic topic in IITJEE.Though few direct questions come from Trigonometry, yet it;s concepts have far reaching applications in each and every part of Mathematics. So,you must be thorough with it. I don't know about Brilliant materials but SL Loney is a fine book but not compatible with the sort of preparation time that you've now.I would recommend KC SINHA orTMH .Both are quite enough in terms of IIT JEE requirements in terms of theory and problems.ARIHANT Trigo also is a good choice. Most important thing regarding Trigonometry is the FORMULAS.I've found people remembering only basic formulas thinking they can derive the rest on the spot in the exam.Of course, one can derive them, but it's rather much useful to LEARN each and every trigonometrical formulas. This will not only help in solving complicated problems in an easier manner but will reduce unnecessary stress during exams and SAVE your precious time. SO,for excelling in Trigonometry (as well as in other parts of Maths),please maintain a FORMULA SHEET. This will help u revise things in an easy and fast manner esp before exams.

Career decisions should be determined by taking into consideration 2 factors 1)Your INTERESTS 2)Your STRENGTHS If you have strong hold in Maths and Science ,then you may think about IIT as a goal.It will be a healthy time to start the preparation now. Now,there is no fixed method of doing well in IIT ,nor are there any shortcuts. SINCERE HARD WORK is the key.You got to make sure that you master the CONCEPTS and their APPLICATIONS in all three subjects viz Physics,Chemistry & Maths. Joining a coaching institute is a good thing to KEEP you REGULAR and up to the target, and keeps your preparation level on check. However, donot just rely on the coaching institute and do the SELFWORK as much as possible.MAKE REGULAR NOTES AND FORMULA SHEETS.It's a very practice that will help you later to revise. There are many other important things regarding IIT JEE preparation, which you will keep learning in this 2 years period....and for any help GOIIT is there. ALL THE BEST.

We require to find the sum of all 4 digited positive numbers without any 0 in it. So,the 4 digits in the numbers can be 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9. Now,each place in the number viz unit, tenth, hundredth, thousandth place will have any of these digits. So number of possible numbers with above specifications = 9*9*9*9 = 6561 Now,fix one of the digits(say 1 ) in the units place, then total number of such numbers with fixed units place = 9*9*9 =729 Also, for each of these 729 numbers we will have 9 digits possible at units place. So, there will be 729 numbers with units place 1,there will be 729 numbers with units place 2,there will be 729 numbers with units place 3,there will be 729 numbers with units place 4,there will be 729 numbers with units place 5,and so on. So, sum of the units place digits of all reqd numbers = 729*(1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9) = 32805 We place 5 in the units place of the sum and carry over 3280 to the tenth place. Again, sum of the tenth place digits of all reqd numbers = 729*(1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9) = 32805 Adding the carry over to it we get = 32805 + 3280 = 36085 We place 5 in the tenth place of the sum and carry over 3608 to the tenth place. Again, sum of the hundredth place digits of all reqd numbers = 729*(1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9) = 32805 Adding the carry over to it we get = 32805 + 3608 = 36413 We place 3 in the hundredth place of the sum and carry over 3641 to the thousandth place. Again, sum of the thousandth place digits of all reqd numbers = 729*(1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9) = 32805 Adding the carry over to it we get = 32805 + 3641 = 36446 We place 36446 in the thousandth place. So, Sum of the reqd 4 digited numbers not having 0 as a digit = 36446355 I hope ur problem is solved..
