Catalogs Discussion Forums -> Botany -> wat are characteristics of r strategists population???explain -> Go to message
This Post 0 points    (Olaaa!! Perrrfect answer.   in 0 votes )   [?]
In unstable or unpredictable environments r-selection predominates, as the ability to reproduce quickly is crucial, and there is little advantage in adaptations that permit successful competition with other organisms, because the environment is likely to change again. Traits that are thought to be characteristic of r-selection include: high fecundity, small body size, early maturity onset, short generation time, and the ability to disperse offspring widely. Organisms whose life history is subject to r-selection are often referred to as r-strategists or r-selected. Organisms with r-selected traits range from bacteria and diatoms, through insects and weeds, to various semelparous cephalopods and mammals, especially small rodents. [Source-Wikipedia]
Catalogs Discussion Forums -> Inorganic Chemistry -> in the reaction H2S-----> 2H+ + S- , when NH4OH is added then.....a)concentration of S-- decreases.. -> Go to message
This Post 10 points    (Olaaa!! Perrrfect answer.   in 2 votes )   [?]
NH4OH will furnish OH- and so H+ will be removed. So reacn. proceeds in forward direction and so the conc. of S-- should increase.

no they are not d same.although both are for excretion. Organ of bojanus is actually the kidney of molluscs. Keber's organ is another organ for excretion.

Earthquakes generate sound waves inside the earth. The earth can experience both transverse(S) and longitudinal(P) sound waves. Typically the speed of S is abt. 4km/s and that of P is 8 km/s. A seismograph records P and S waves from an earthquake. The first P wave arrives 4 min. before the first S wave. At what distance does the earthquake occur?

 ya sorry...it is 10^-8.....[Ba2+] = S' , [OH-] = S' + 10^-2

now apply Ksp = (2S' + 10-2)2 (S').......omit the S2 and S3 terms as they are very small. u will get 10^-8
