They say you never get a second opportunity to make first impression. I
mpressions become indelibly engraved in the minds of others - the way you smile, walk, talk, shake hands, and the way you lean forward to create a bond between yourself and others. To get through to people you have to use personality appeal. Your personality becomes a bridge between you and other people and creates the impressions that bind them to you.
Your personality should make a lasting impression on your peers, superiors and anybody with whom you interact. For this you need appropriate etiquettes and dressing. You have to package yourself to be a success person in today's
competitive era. The key is to be polished and just be yourself.
Here's how you can create a positive first impression:
Observe, study and listen
When you are new to your workplace, office or group, stop, observe, listen and understand the people around you. When you fail to understand the needs and wants in people, peers and seniors, you can't expect to hold their attention.
Create a confident image
You should always be humble and polite. Project yourself as someone who is confident, and strong-willed. Your self-image is the product of your self-talk. The way you talk to yourself forms an image and the image you hold in your mind draws your subconscious towards the picture you create for yourself. You should build within yourself a belief system that is positive, confident and constructive. The self-image is the core of human personality. Your self-image is a composite of all your beliefs about yourself and your interpretation of all past experiences. Develop positive attitudes. Antidote of all fears is positive attitude.
How to say what you want to say
You are working and operating in a competitive global village, so your qualification and experience is not enough. It is important to convey what you know and how you say is as important as what you say. It is like mastering art of communication, art of dealing with people. The way you transfer a thought from your mind to your listener's mind matters. One should always be alert and aware.
Be interested in people
You should be genuinely interested in other people. Be simple, polite and humble. R
emember: A man with a smile is always welcome. A person's name is sweetest and most important in any language. Always make the other person feel important. Avoid talking too much of self and self-boasting. Encourage others to talk about themselves and their accomplishments. Sense of humour is always desirab.
Your personality should make you naturally nice to be around. You should develop charm, congeniality and other social graces. You should develop a knack for always being at the right place at the right time with a service. Make no mistakes. You never get second opportunity to make first impressions.
We are what we repeatedly do;Excellence then is not act but habits.

In our fast paced, tech savvy era, basic interaction can be a challenge for even the most confident and self assured individual. And yet making conversation is a necessity; those who do it well shine at networking parties, interviews and business deals.
Core crunch
?
Any communication succeeds only when it has been received, understood, accepted and the intended action has been effected,? said J N Datta, MD of JENTEK and also an expert in interpersonal communication. Good communication skills reflect self-confidence and intelligence. It is a key, not just to how people perceive someone but also defines how an individual looks at himself.?The power of speech is not a gift to use lightly without thought, but one which demands careful handling,? asserted Datta.
Speak in style
So what does it take to make a great conversationalist?
?To master the art of conversation a person not only needs to be well equipped with the subject but also needs to have a proper grasp of language. During a conversation, it is essential for one to realise that voice, tone, appearance and body language also plays a vital role,? said Chandrima Ghosh, a personality development trainer.
Corporate speak
Excellent corporate communication is the bloodline of any organisation. Moushree Dey, a corporate communication manager, said,? Be it the vice-president of the company or the receptionist, everyone has to be well equipped with their verse.?
Once again the combination of positive words with good body language becomes essential to create an impact.?Your confidence level will help you maintain a healthy relationship with your clients as well as your colleagues,? added Dey.
Seven wonders
Not everyone is blessed with the gift of the gab. So for those less fortunate ones, the following tricks should work wonders:
?Clarity? and?accuracy? is important in verbal communication
While making a presentation one needs to maintain a balanced outlook. Controversial remarks might hamper smooth dialogue
Patience and careful listening is the key to good conversation
Being courteous helps
Maintain eye contact while having a conversation
Keep the language simple
Be careful of your body language. Do not slouch or droop down, it can lead to nervousness and discomfort
And as the Bee Gees rightly said? It's only words, and words are all I have to take your heart away?.

Story
There was an important job to be done and
?EVERYBODY?
was asked to do it.
?EVERYBODY?
was sure
?SOMEBODY?
would do it.?ANYBODY? could have done it, but
?NOBODY?
did it,
?SOMEBODY?
got angry about that bcoz it was
?EVERYBODY?
job
?EVERYBODY?
thought
?ANYBODY?
could do it but
?NOBODY?
realized that
?EVERYBODY?
wouldn?t do it
It ended up that
?EVERYBODY?
blamed
?SOMEBODY?
when actually
?NOBODY?
asked ?
ANYBODY?.

Dictionary is the place where,
Death comes before life,
Success comes before work,
And divorce comes before

But the best part is
friends
comes before love and relatives.
