listen i got a suggestion..as the state rank system is scrapped off in aieee(except for ur own state) u cn think of takin up NIT Allahabad(one of the gud NITs) n u cn try takin up ECE,CS or IT in NIT allahabad..n otherwise jadavpur..i dnt knw abt medical..

if u want to be a bitsian go to BITS Goa or hyderabad..if u want to be in a govt coll n a insti of national imp go to NIT jaipur,otherwise go to DA IICT..if u dont hv ny choice left go to the rest...

listen up..u will be eligible for councellin..dont worry abt that..i got 697 SR last time(TN quota) n i got Instrumentation and control in NIT Jalandhar..u cn come to jal..its allrite..u mite get instru here..jals a decent place,well connected,so u cn come here..otherwise if u dnt get instru,u cn think of chemical or industrial here..last time a guy who got 1101 SR got NIT j industrial in 1st councellin..so u hv a great chance to get..thats it..n as far as NITs are concerned my perception is that all r same except trichy warangal suratkal n allahabad...of which u mite not get ny..so u cn choose any NIT dependin on which city u wanna live in..life in NIT is different coz u get ppl frm all states of india n u get the feel of "unity in diversity" here...n about the course..listen up..any course in NIT is gud..if u do well in college u cn get the best job with any course..believe in this..if u r not particular abt ny course..then take up wat u get n focus on it..iam tellin u,it will work..dnt think ece,cse n mech r the only engg.courses..civil is cool..my branch is fine is also ok but most of u wouldnt of heard of instru..nyway...i think ive written enough..gud luck to u..

n last time a guy who got 300 sr had an AIR of around 14000...i knw that this time the competition hs increased in TN..so probably ur AIR wud be around 10000 to 11000..

hi dude..
the ranks given in ORCR are the first councellin results..the results of 2nd and 3rd councellin r not included..n with state rank 300 ull get mech or Instrumentation or production in NIT Trichy.if u wanna get electronics u cn get in Nagpur or calicut..(mostly instrumentation in trichy)...so gud luck..i got state rank 697 in 2007 n iam studyin instru in NIT jalandhar..c ya..

U cn get civil or meta in some north NIT..this time the competition has increased a lil bit in TN..last time my state rank ws 697 and i got 35568..iam studyin instrumentation in NIT Jalandhar..if u hv a chance of gettin a gud coll in TN,then id say wait fr second counsellin n take up Trichy meta or civil in some central india NIT...all the best....n u may get chemical or industrial in NIT jalandhar..

Punjab engineering college offers Aerounautical engineering(iam not very sure,but i think so..check in its website)NITs dont offer Aeronautical engineering i guess..

its a IIIT n its gotto be gud..n i heard that classes will be in IIT madras till they construct the buildings(iam not sure)..so u shd take it..

if you are frm chennai i would say you take Anna if you get an equivalent branch..coz Anna is also gud n it is situated in a gud city..n preparation for CAT wud be easier coz you will have access to better coaching institutes..

Hi..ya you will get the rankings in the outlook website or the India today website..but lemme tell you one thing..i saw Outlook's B School ranking..they've ranked MDI Gurgaon at 5 and IIM indore n Kozhikode are not there even in the top 10..is this true??of course not!!!!so dont believe the engineering rankings too..coz they've ranked some private colleges which take donation for admission ahead of some NITs!!!!keep this as a general ranking:
first all the IITs
then BITS
then the top 5 NITs
then the state government universities(like anna,jadavpur,PEC etc) and the other NITs
then some gud private colleges like Manipal,thapar,DAIICT etc(acc to me Thapar n DAIICT are better than some NITs)..
thats it..dont try to look for specific rankings coz every magazine publishes diff rankings..

NITs..but only trichy,suratkal,warangal,calicut n allahabad will be better than UVCE..n when it comes to private colleges all NITs are better than them!!!

anna counselling is frm 23 july..there will b some dropout seats,but not so much..coz the only reason anna is preferred over NIT trichy is the location..so dont expect too many dropout seats...
