inert pair effect is the non-participation of the s-electrons in the bulkier atoms.
the s-electrons don't participate due to poor sheilding effect of the f orbitals.
therefore they can't be lost very easily. if they're lost they destabilize the atom
occurs in heavy elements like Pb, Bi , Tl etc.
ex in Bi
+1 oxidation state is more stable than in +3
stability order of +1 state in grp 15
Bi>Sb>As
reverse for stability of +3
rate me if all this helps me.......

1st solve 2nd and 3rd term by Sin C + SinD
u'll get sin (2a+360)/2 left
then add it to sin a by solving the angles
u'll get cos90 on solving multiplied by some term.

ughhh...
typing dis one is a diffcult job.
but the soln is:
find the coordinates.
u'll get relations b/w a and b  by equating the sides
and u can form another eqn by proving that the diagonals intersect perpendicularly.
hence get the answer

the formula is:
x'=x1-2aL1/a square plus b square
x1= coordinates of d point
ax+by+c is the eqn of the line
and L is no. which u get after putting the coordinates in the eqn of line

no u're wrong bcoz if R is any functional grp containing Carbon then 1st priority will be given to it...
and the name will completely change.

The alkanes having a straight or normal chain are called normal or n- hydrocarbons.
The alkanes in which the carbon chain has branches are called branched chain hydrocarbons. Such alkanes as possess a one-carbon branch on the 2nd carbon of the normal basic chain, are called Iso hydrocarbons.
When the normal carbon chainpresent in the molecule has 2 one-carbon branches on the 2nd carbon from the end, the alkane is referred to as Neo hydrocarbon.
Secondary or 2degree carbon atom is the one which is bonded to 2 other carbon atoms.
Tertiary or 3 degree carbon atom is the one which is bonded to 3 other carbon atoms.
