apart from pec and thapar what options do i have
i will be grateful if anybody cud help bout the colleges i shud try for
and does anybody know how much quota is for my city for NITs etc
or where i can find information like that

like some of the people were saying u need 260+
arey mujhe ek baat batao if u all beleive that fiitjee cutoffs are prolly right
think bout it for a sec
if u think 190 around is a cutoff
do u knw that as the marks decrease from 300 down the students getting scores increases so for example if 10 students getting 300 then there wud be 1000 people getting 200
if 190 is cutoff why wud u need 260 plus to get anything i dont understand the logic
either say cutoffs will be 225 around then say 260 is needed
there are Lots of people near the cutoff and that is why how i come to this logic.

coolduderama cudnt get anymore wrong with his predictions.
first of all jee ranks have never be linearly proportional.
he has put 100 ranks for every 5 marks in between. well let me tell it surely doesnt work that way.
its pretty much an exponential growth where there are lots of people with about the same marks in the 20 marks above the cutoff bracket and then the rush starts to pull off where the half marks percentage reaches and then it can never be 100 for 5 marks after that.
Moreover there are lots of sites and institution and even news channels who predict the cutoff to be around 180.
Are u going to say that big news channels who have information from across the world are less reliable sources than your own personal opinion or they did not even influence your personal opinion?

well i dont knw i m not expecting great things coming my way but i ve been looking around the net and they all have been projecting it between 1000-1500 and worse around 2000 for those marks.
so what do u think u cant get anything worth it for 1500?
i may reconsider at 2500
but if i m getting anywhere around 1500 i ll go for it

i was just too ambitious so to say.
@coolyog what do u mean its no use going to an iit if u dont get a good rank i mean i understand whhat ur saying if u get a rank around 4000
but i mean iit is iit theres a very big difference between any instiitute and iit
i mean my seniors told me that.i knew people from PEC
well i m from chandigarh so that is the next best choice for us and he was like join iit,whatevr u get coz theres difference in opportunities and lots of other factors.
i mean coming from a person who was smart and had been through the process would mean something.

well somebody on the forum said in some post that after 2nd or 3rd list of Bits even the people wid 198 marks were called.
i mean how does this really work coz i m pretty sure people with good scores would be going to an iit and not to Bits
and i m not really sad
i got around 240-250 in iit so i m hoping of a decent rank and going there.

seervi said that he heard people say the avg score wud be 65 percent for 6.45 lakhs (that is exact figure of the people who gave the AIEEE)
i was just pointing out that is absolutely false in other words a rumour.

ok i gave my bitsat paper today i got 265
i knw its not a great score but i dont want to cry over it now coz its done
anywayz i had looked into the cutoff's for BITS that people have posted over this forum.
they were quite high(as much as 368 for comp sc.)
i want to know are these the final cutoff's like the cutoff's which the college used for admission or the first cutoff's
because alot of people who give bitsat and get really good scores also end up having good scores in JEE and AIEEE so lots of them dont go to BITS in the first place.
If this is the case then has anybody found as to what the actuall cutoff's were last year after the second or the third list.

that is the worst rumour i ve heard till now
i ve checked on various sites and i m getting around your score (217)
and they projected my rank in between 1000-4000
(well this is a culmination of all the projections of my score from various differnt sources)
