hiiiiiiiii shuaib,
arre yaar y would I mind answering this question??After all meri tareef horahi hai.
how many hours u study dont matter.What matters is with how much concentration u r studying.First thing that i'll suggest is to have a fixed schedule for studying.(if you dont follow one)
i used to sleep for 8 hours.used to waste only 3 or 4 hours in having food,getting ready etc.that makes around 12 to 13 hours a day.but i used to follow this schedule only in the last two months.If you are regular from the begining but get lazy in the last two months then all your hardwork will be wasted.last two months are the most crucial.devote as much time as u can to solving papers.I dropped a year bcoz i didnt take any coaching in 11th and 12th.Are u in school??Or have you also dropped a year??
If you are in school then definitely u wont be able to devote so much time.Just study with full concentration.Dont think about how much time u r studying.Numbers of hours do not matter.Dont concentrate much on school.Focus more on JEE.
I hope my advice is helpful to you.Am always there to guide and help.

if ever you'll get a 4 degree equation in jee to solve,then it will be an easy one and you'll need to apply hit n trial method.
it can be clearly seen that x=1 satisfies the eqn.
always try using x=-2,-1,0,1,2
any one will definitely satisfy any  four  degree eqn given in jee.
but if u want the proper way ,then hit_ur_heart has explained the right way correctly.
but just a little correction,in this case f"(x)=12x^2 but not 12x^3

the study material of fiitjee has all the important and different kind of questions.doing package makes you familiar with all kind of questions.but for improving your speed of solving question and to reduce the silly mistakes done while solving questions,you should do more and more questions from books
for physics:H.C.Verma
for maths:A.Das Gupta
for chem:i think package and GMP is enough for chemistry.

take cosx to the other side and square both the sides,
sin2x+sinx-1=0
therefore,sinx= [-1+root(5)]/2 and [-1-root(5)]/2
since sinx cannot be negative, second answer is discarded
so answer is  [-1+root(5)]/2

A.M. >=G.M.
(a+b+c)/3>= (abc)1/3
a,b,c are in AP therefore,a+c=2b
therefore,(2b+b)/3>= 41/3
b>=41/3
so minimum value of b is 41/3
but this is not there in the options.so,the number greater than this should be the answer i.e.2

i am sorry.I did some mistake in the last reply.we can't say surely that the perimeter will be a rational number.

is your question correct??u wanna know which of the options would be an integer or a rational number???
if u wanna know which one would be integer,then there is no answer because we cant be sure.many of them might be integers depending on the values of coordinates.
but we can surely say that perimeter would be a rational number.
Catalogs Discussion Forums -> Analytical Geometry -> CAN ANYBODY SOLVE THIS QUESTION ON PARABOLA -> Go to message
This Post 0 points    (Olaaa!! Perrrfect answer.   in 0 votes )   [?]
hiii
i guess your options are wrong.|a| should also be there in the numerator.

solution:
eqn of tangent at point (at2,2at) is ty-x=at2 (for the first parabola)
eqn of normal at point (2bu,bu2) is uy+x=bu3+2bu (for second parabola)

also slopes of these two equations should be same,so u=-t
substituing u=-t in eqn of normal and adding the two equations,we get
bt3-at2+2bt=0
one solution is t=0
therefore, bt2-at+2b=0 should have real solutions
hence , a2-8b2>0
|b|<|a|/2*sqrt(2)

This Post 5 points    (Olaaa!! Perrrfect answer.   in 1 votes )   [?]
nice way of solving the question boyzzz but this is not the right way.It's working for this question but might not work for 4x+7y+z+w=100.your method might become tedious for some question.
the actual way of solving these is by using the multinomial theorem
we have,4x+y+z=20
i'll denote nCby c(n,r)
coefficient of x20 in the following series will be the answer:
(1+x4+x8+x12+x16+x20)(1+x+x2+x3+....+x20)2
=(1+x4+x8+x12+x16+x20)/(1-x)2         (we can extend the series in the square term to infinity because including heigher powers of x won't affect the answer)
also,coefficient of xr in (1-x)-n=c(n+r-1,r)
so the answer is =coeff of x20+coeff of x16+coeff of x12+coeff of x8+coeff of x4+coeff of x0
=c(21,20)+c(17,16)+c(13,12)+c(9,8)+c(5,4)+c(1,0)
=21+17+13+9+5+1=66

this is really simple
first find the eqn of tangent.
slope=2x+b  , so at point(1,1) slope is = b+2
eqn of tangent is :
(y-1)=(b+2)(x-1)
now find its intercepts with the X and Y axes.
for intercept on Y axis,put x =0 and u'll get y=(-b-1)
for intercept on X axis,put y =0 and u'll get x=(b+1)/(b+2)
now area of the right angeled triangle formed is =base *height/2
=(-b-1)(b+1)/[(b+2)*2]
put it equal to 2 and u'll get the answer
answer is b= -3

saurabh is right,but there can be one more way also.
just use distance formula.
in ABC cosB=(a2+c2-b2)/2ac
use this formula to calculate the cos term
solution:
OP1=sqrt(x12+y12)
OP2=sqrt(x22+y22)
cosP1OP2=(x1x2+y1y2)/sqrt(x12+y12)sqrt(x22+y22)
I have taken a=OP1     ,b=P1P2      c=OP2
P1P2=sqrt((x1-x2)2+(y1-y2)2)2

so now u'll get the answer

hey this is very simple,
let the magnitude of push be P
draw the FBD and u'll get
let the tension in the cord be T
T cos30=mg
T sin30=P

divide the two and get the answer

are u sure abt the question,bcoz i htink that the last term should be   4xycosec2 2.
equation becomes:
x2+xy(tan2 + cot2)+y2-4xycosec22
=x2+y2+xy(sin4+cos4)/(sin2cos2) -4xycosec22
=x2+y2+xy(1-2sin2cos2)/(sin2cos2)-4xycosec22   (using the expansion for (sin2x+cos2x)2 )
=x2+y2-2xy+xy/sin2cos2-4xycosec22
=(x-y)2

is the sigma only for the numerator??and also,this sigma should be from 1 to 1000.if this is so,then the answer is x itself

since your question is not clear,i'll not be able to give you the answer but i can give u hint.

whether x is integer or not,the sigma term is not affected because R is an integer.fractional part still remains the same.

I would suggest dont waste your time and money on these workshops.instead of wasting 4 hours in that workshop,revise the things that you've done.dont waste time thinking about these workshops and whether you should attend them or not.hardwork is the key to success,not these workshops.so,now, just concentrate on your studies only and dont involve yourself into any such workshop things.

hyper conjugation is the delocalisation of sigma electron.it is also called sigma-pi conjugation or no bond resonance.
occurence- alkenes,alkynes,free radicals(saturated type),carbonium ions(saturated type).

condition: presence of  -H with repect to double bond,triple bond,carbon containing positive charge or unpaired electron(free radical).
    H                                 H+
    |                                                          _
H-CH-CH=CH2  H-CH=CH-CH2
similarily for other two  -H atoms.
number of hyperconjugative structures=number of  -H atoms.

effects:
1)effects the bond length like resonance.
2)affects dipole moment due to formation of charges.
3)stability of carbonium ions and free radicals:more the number of hyperconjugative structures,more is the stability
