this question is very simple.first consider the total possibilities i.e. 12c3.then consider all the cases in which one,two and all the three boys do not get even a single fruit and subtract those cases from total no. of cases which will give you the answer.
cheers rate me if useful

see in a compound the tendency of an electron of an atom in any element present in the compound(in this case H,P & O) is to move to different orbitals.here the empty or vacant d orbital of phosphorus is filled by one electron which comes from its p orbital.since s and p orbitals all are half filled and one d orbital is filled with one electron its sp3d which means 1,3,1 electron in s,p,d orbital resp.
i can't explain much better than this if i'm wrong(which i'm sure not) or i'm unable to explain you clearly don't rate me and ask your doubt from a forum expert

ishita the answer is sp3d because phosphorus has empty d orbitals and electrons from p orbital move towards d orbital
