Hi I am IT BHU student .last year i was also on this forum during my JEE Now yes the news is true ITBHU is being converted into an IIT and this process will take less than a year ie before the next session after the administration has been renewed the IIT status will be granted although the funding to IT BHU will be similar to any IIT from the coming session ie july 2008 onwards

iit roorkee+hard work first year=branch change=if get civil or a better branch=better than the pilani option

carefull scrutiny will reveal that (bhu=iiith)>nsit the iiit-h hype is definitely giving it a wonderful thrust but past few days i have been collecting datas all around and conclusion comes to what it is above . i have now a complete knowledge about the iiit h campus and aboveall scenario there and i have been to bhu-it and blimey bhu is not all that 'dehati' and outdated as many people in this forum seem to be thinking .it has been taking intakes through jee from 1970 when iit guwahati and "iit roorkee" did not even exist . only advantage with iiit-h is the excellent placements but for ur knowledge if i may tell you....... iiith ---cse ---avg placemens---5.75(according to their site) bhu----cse----avg placements--8(reliable sources frm the institute) bhu also has a wonderful and experienced faculty beautiful campus.iiit h has (ofcource)wonderful placements, offers wonderful internships, and is situated in an industrial region . But placements of bhu-cse are better than iiith-cse(facts speak !) so which one is the better one??? and the biggest problem is that i am having these two options and i still have to decide.@####$$%$#@

for instance the india today survey has given different ranks to the iits and it-bhu in the "admission procedure" column with it-bhu having a shocking rank of 20(yes in terms of admission procedure there are 20 colleges ahead of it-bhu- which has intakes through jee -one of the toughest exam today )wonder what these people consider us- fools or dead souls with no grey matter
